you should see a February 2020 New Ex-SMokers - Start Here in the left column under Discussions. Do you see it?

Welcome back - good to see you have decided to keep on it - a little trip but you are still on the right path - you got this!

Well, looks like you are in with us now. Good job. What do you use to distract you? Are you working? Do you have hobbies? Where are you from? Just looking to get to know you and strike up a conversation. Cheers

Thank you. Hopefully I will be able to stick close to this forum and maybe that will keep me on the straight and narrow. We can all do this!

I have a full time job in a large clinic, live on my own. My hobby is hiking with my dogs and a couple of times a week with a local group.
To distract myself at home I usually clean, or sew.
On Sunday I'm off to see my son and family for a week, and scared I'll be stressed and snappy but I can't use that as an excuse to smoke, that's what I usually do when I visit, I secretly start to smoke again to calm me but end up feeling so guilty

Well this time when you go to visit, you can go in the self knowledge that you do not smoke and you can be very, very proud of yourself. Hold your head up and walk the talk cause you got this.

thank you, you're so good :)
I just get so stressed and anxious when I'm trying to stop smoking, I know that's normal and expected but I don't see them very often and I'm so scared I won't be myself and upset people because I'm having cravings

I wanted to share that I am quitting today. I’ve been an on and off smoker for years and have done many attempts to quit. Now I am determined to keep off the cigarettes for good. I hope I don’t relapse again when life gets a bit hard. I have been on a quitting forum before and it really helped that time. I hope we can support each other in our attempt to fight the nicotine monster! It is good to know that there are other people out there going through similar struggles.
