My longest current quit(18 months now) has been using Chantix. I think if you have the right mindset and determination you will be fine!

So I stayed on the 1/2 pill every other day for 6 weeks, why? Because was told it takes 2 weeks for your body to adjust to the dosage, then felt I better stay on it at that dosage because was having cravings again.
Tomorrow I am starting 1/2 pill every other day in morning, opposite of the night pill. May do this for another 6 weeks.
In the past I have been on Chantix, and just stopped it like your supposed to, and went right back to smoking. I definitely DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN! Nor go back at all.
Will update in 6 weeks!
yes I have been extremely tired again. Is it quit related? Covid? Or other medical issues? I don’t know!

Take your time weaning off it. You are doing so so well Eve!
Are you eating well and not too much sugar? I found sugar zaps me. Maybe more water too? More trips to WaWa?
Do you see doc for check up?
Maybe just change of seasons. I think the body notices the changes in light a lot. Plus you are back at work too. And you get up at a god awful hour! Man you are Noping when we are all sawing logs!

Well, just keep it a separate thing and stay focused on the quit. Bob and weave, bob and weave!
Did I get that right?? Lol! Been a while for that one!

I just wanted to pop in and say the new regime of the Chantix seems to be fine.....I even forgot to take a dose. So not sure, but may just wait to October 15th and downgrade again.
*the skipping of the dose was good, but forgot to take the other pills at night.......whoops!

I say you're doing great! This is fabulous news that you're not struggling. I was super scared to get off of lozenges but I turned out fine and I think the way you are weaning is good. You're going to be a-ok if you keep your eye on the prize and do NOT smoke!

Thanx Tiny......you are doing well also. The ocean would be a great reward for you, I bought a Jeep Renegade. I use some of the money that I used to spend on cigarettes for the car payment. Yes just some of the money......lol. Then again I didn’t buy new, and did pay almost half in cash for it , but still, I’m very happy to be able to purchase it with cigarette money!

Well I have done well so far on the weaning off.....starting on Friday I will cut down to 1/2 pill at night every night......and continue on the daytime pills 1/2 pill every other day.
Let’s see how that goes! On Friday I will be at 9 months and really want to be completely off the Chantix by my one year mark! But not sure if that is possible, since I’m doing this SO SO slowly. Oh well....honestly I know that everyone has a different quit , so no matter what I do not want to go back to smoking, therefore if I’m a lil past a year.....so what. The dosage should be minimal at that point. I’m just convincing myself in this post. The one thing I have learned in this forum, is to do what’s best for YOU! Whatever it takes for you to be smomber is CORRECT! Don’t let someone convince you either way, their method may work for THEM, but not necessarily YOU.

That's absolutely right! You do whatever you need to do to stay smober! If it takes you a while, so what? You do you.
