No Lorie, its not hard now to see people rushing for smoking. Getting comfortable. I know, from my last experience, there will be crossing of wires, but these tests are moulding me to success, right?

Hi Lorie, how are you today?i hope you are enjoying the day.i am so happy for you Lorie. You are a great support to everyone coming here. I was just reading Lukes forum. He is doing a pretty good job right? I have an illustrative pdf of Alan Car. It really did a great job. I dont know if people are aware of that book. Its a book of 17 mb i tried to upload but its not as the forum has limitations. As for me helping others is increasing my confidence and reinforces my quit resolution. Its a wonderful feeling. Helping one quit smoking.

Hi Lorie, i just have a doubt. In Alan cars book, they are telling willpower itsself isnt going to do the work. Why is it? I would like to hear your opinion.

Good morning Joel!
Good to hear from you. Yes, Luke is doing a very good job and I saw the very sweet and kind things you said about me. Maybe you give me too much credit though?
I believe that is absolutely correct Joel that willpower alone is not enough. I will write more later on my thoughts, and please keep in mind they are only the simple thoughts of a fellow addict and I don’t know any more than anybody else really. Just trying to find my way like all of us are!
I think if you try to leave it to willpower alone, you are creating a struggle in your mind between your wiser self that doesn’t want to smoke for so many reasons, and your addict self. I see the addict as a small separate piece that is in there trying to win all the other pieces over to its side, so to speak. Or to get the other pieces to give in and give it what it wants, the nicotine. So when we leave it to willpower we are leaving it to a struggle or a battle with ourself, rather than learning to accept the addict and teach it other things over time. It will always be there, and always be vulnerable, but over time, I believe it learns to want the nicotine less. Over time the wiser self can also become more centered and in control. But...most struggles usually remain just that, a struggle. What we really want to do is re-train this addict, not fight with it. Addiction to things can be healthy too, right? It is not necessarily a bad piece, but one that needs acceptance and nurturing and training.
Does any of this make ANY sense?? Lol!

That makes perfect sense Lorie.. You always clears my doubts.that worked for me too, seeing the addict within myself as a separate identity trying to conquer every aspects of my life.

Next week, its going to be the first snowfall of coming winterwhat about Portland? Does it snow there..

Oh, no! Of course not! You should watch what engages and entertains you. I would never tell someone what they should or should not watch. I may not watch it with them, but wouldn’t judge either.
More later! I am going for a massage and acupuncture!
The only thing I will tell you NOT TO DO is smoke!
