Hello,
This is my first day. I had my last 3 cigarettes yesterday but didn't really feel like I needed to smoke the last 2 after my first cigarette of the day. But I smoked them anyways before bed, which is when I used to smoke a lot. I've been reading materials about quitting non stop all day and downloaded several apps. I know this is the right thing to do for myself but I do feel sad, it's like a break up. I can only remind myself to take it one day at a time and I just need to not smoke for one day, every day. I appreciate any support from ex-smokers or maybe connect with someone who is beginning to quit so we can try and do it as a team and encourage each other. Thank you!!

Good choice Anita - you have made the best decision of your life. This forum and its members are here to support you. How are you doing on your first day? I know the first few days are strange. Keep in mind that you are removing yourself from an addiction. Smoking is not just a habit. You can do this. Just don't smoke.
Cheers

Anita
Welcome to the forum. Hope your day 1 is going well? This is hard but, it is doable. I just hit my 3 month......
Go up to November 2021 New Ex-Smokers and you will find a lot of really helpful links. Spend lots of time reading and posting........More people tend to look at the newcomers area so you will get more support.....Also, reading through the October and connecting with some of them as well. You will also learn a lot just reading through the posts of those that have already gone through the days you are in.
Good luck. Yell out if you need help

Thank you very much, Anne. Most of my friends and family don't smoke so I am glad to find this forum where people do understand.

Thank you, Lubbercat, that's what I did all day yesterday, reading everything about quitting smoking, the lies we believe about smoking and the benefits of not smoking. Now it's Day 2, one day at a time.

One day at a time will add up faster then you can imagine........Just let them pass
