I posted this to ALL today. I don't know if you saw it.
Here it is:
8:17 AM
Another Day Smoke Free
Going on my 12th week smoke free, Yippee I am really a non-smoker. I am approaching the 3rd month of freedom and feel confident I can do another month. I can see 6 months out, a day at a time. Never before have I felt this way about my smoking.
As you all know I spend a lot of time on this site. I am excited to read all the posts and gain strength from all of you. It keeps me grounded and I try to share my positive thoughts and feelings as we progress on our journey.
Before we know it 2023 is right around the corner. What a wonderful thought starting the new year as a non-smoker. I can't wait.
Really, smoking is downright stupid. How we got caught up in the insanity of it all escapes me as the many times I tried to quit on my own, I just couldn't do it. Surrender should not be in our vocabulary. We were given this miracle called life to live it to the fullest.
I am grateful for the support and encouragement that I get from all of you. It amounts to free therapy, and I always leave the site with something that helps me remain abstinent. Keep posting and reading, it will make a big difference in your fight to freedom.
Good day,
Andrew

Aww...that AMAZING and congratulations!!! 12 weeks is a Huge accomplishment. You are doing so GREAT!!! So proud of you!
Keep up the great work! I spent most of the day outside at picnics wanting to pass out from the heat. The older I get I just can't take it anymore. I do not know how you even deal with Florida! No thank you!
Hope you had a great day and thank you for copying your post to me!

Yesssss! Do we have a MOD now???

Thank you so much Lore and I am so honored to be asked to be in this position. I really hope I can make a difference just like ModMarge, ModDee, ModSue and so many others did for my first year or so. I'm going to try my best to be a great support system for everyone here.

You already have Cindi. Huge difference and support even before becoming a Mod. I remember you well from my earlier days and that was over two years ago now. I would never have made it this far without my Forumily and the support I received and still receive here. It’s been said kicking nicotine is harder than kicking heroin. I’ve not been addicted to that so I can’t say personally, though my Aunt was a heroin addict and off of it for over 20 years before quitting cigarettes and she said that is true. I do very much believe that unless one has been on this journey personally, they just don’t understand it. Having the support and encouragement of those who have gone before us makes all the difference.
Quitting smoking can make one feel as if the world is off it’s axis a bit for a while. Having the grounded, non judgmental support we get from you and of the other oldsters along this path is such a comfort.

Good morning Gayle,
I hope you are doing well. Tomorrow is such a big day for you! We will all be thinking of you and sending that good energy your way! You are in very capable hands and I’m sure they will take the best care of you. Come back when you get the chance and let us know how you are.

Thanks for thinking of me, Lorifecent
Feeling very nervous today. Need to be at the hospital at 5:45. Worried more about the nicotine withdrawal than the surgery. Am scheduled for same discharge, my doc says that if I can get up from the bed, I can go home. Fortunate to have a husband to help me, a friend of mine went through the whole thing on her own.

Gaylesybil,
You are in my thoughts for tomorrow and sending good vibes for a successful surgery and quick recovery. Please let us know how everything goes.

Hey Gayle,
Thinking of you and sending so many good thoughts and wishes to you. I'm so glad you have your husband there to help you. I'm also sorry that your friend had to go through it alone. I'm sorry too that I'm late replying. I've not been feeling too good recently. Nonetheless, as Lore said, you have a lot of good energy being sent your way today and we're all looking forward to hearing from you again soon, so please let us know how you're doing.
Have a great day.
