Palmistry is the art of relating the future or of one's personality through reading the lines and bumps on a person's hand.
It is estimated that Palmistry may be 5000 years old
There are several catagories of Palmistry--
the major ones being:
Chiromancy, the art of divining past present and future from signs and lines in the hand
Chirognomy, the art of establishing the basic charater and disposition of a person based on reading the hand
Dermatoglyphics, the study of sking ridge patterns in the palms and soles of the feet, often to detect physical illness
Every hand , from the fingertips to the wrist, contains markers amd points that can be analyzed. There are lines which run horizontally and vertically across the palm and mounds-- fleshy pads such as the mounds under each finger. Each mound and line has a certain significance. Also there are smaller lines and patterns along the whole hand which can be used in a palm reading as well as the shape and size of the hand itself, the curvature of the fingers and the shape of the nails.
Some of the most often used lines are:
Attachment or Marriage Lines
I actually wrote a compare/contrast essay comparing palmistry to tarot, and arguing for palmistry as the more accurate means of divination! When I do readings at "psychic fairs" I am always the only reader offering palm readings..
I am so glad to see it introduced here!
There are "warriors" on your knuckles! If you hold your hand facing yourself and look at the lines in your knuckles you will see stick figures, representing your current activities in life. You may see them holding spears or dancing or any of a million things. They even change day to day.
With your fingers pointing towards yourself. They are between the deeper horizontal indentations. Sometimes a print is easier to read than the fingers, (the back side of your hand ;) ) since it catches all the little lines. Mine have been dancing for the past week or so. You think they'd be tired by now.
