Popeye-- one of our "gentle kitties" brought home a gopher this morning-- which he promptly consumed on the sidewalk in front of the porch... Yes, he is well fed, trust me...

And... a little while ago, he also brought home a tiny Gopher Snake which I was able to get away from him and put in a box. I don't think it is too hurt-- we'll see.. If it is ok tomorrow, I will let him go

Have to run to work! You all have a great day

Uh oh....

Got home from work today and the Gopher Snake is gone-- he escaped his box and is living in my bedroom somewhere

LOL!

(I hope the cats don't find him in there)

Oh no Tarty, I cannot imagine even sleeping in a room with a snake slithering around. Ick! My luck while I am sleeping it would slither up under the covers and wrap around my neck or something. Oh I am getting the creepy crawlies just thinking about it.

Blessings,
Shadow

But it's just a baby-- about 1 1/2 feet long

When I had my Ball Python, Isis, she would sometimes escape her cage and be loose in my room-- she was 5 1/2 feet long--about as big as Balls get, but I was never worried she would hurt me or the kids-- If she was hungry she would look for something she could swallow! LOL

She wouldn't have even gone after the cats

Now, if I had a rat in the house at that time, it would have been a different story..

And the gopher thing might be a winter omen.

Then don't read the following
LOL

I thought that Popeye the Fearless had found and killed the snake because I found what I thought was a length of dead snake on the kitchen floor-- but then I realized it was the tail of this big lizard who scurried off under the hutch with Popeye in a worthless pursuit...

So now I have a snake in my bedroom and a lizard in the kitchen...

lalalalalala

Nope-- harmless, like garter snakes

We have gophers here all the time-- the cats kill and eat them, except for the head, which my roommate puts in bleach-- then we decorate the Yule tree with gopher skulls

Ok... we're very strange....
