One great advantage to managing a bookstore (besides the crappy pay- heh) is that I get a fantastic discount on books, and can also borrow books for up to two weeks.

I average 3 to 5 books a week. Currently I am reading:

~Ivanho, and Treasure Island (again-- two of my favorite classics)

~Coyote Blue by Christopher Moore-- One of my favorite authors-- he is hillarious-- check him out if you haven't already

~The Blessing Stone-- mediocre novel, but it was free (advanced reader's copy)-- reading it at work during breaks and lunches

~Devil's Knot-- about the West Memphis Three (more about them later)

~Lies My Teacher Told Me-- just picked it up--was waiting for this one--about the convoluted way U.S. history is presented in high schools

Sooo.. What are you reading?

Help!!!

Currently Warding of the Witch World. It's the last one in the series (finally), besides the anthologies.

Capitol Hill is nothing but whores. They're getting paid to screw somebody.

Books 4 - 6 NFCC Certification manuals -- I take the tests at the end of May.

I decided to read MZB's Darkover series, ALL of them. Then hmm which series to read next. Oh I know! Witch World. Just one of my favorite authors. And I've never actually read them in order.

I started the Anita Blake series by Laurel K Hamilton late last year-- up to the 6th book, and it's a great series. A lot of fun and easy reads.

I like to have a variety at my disposal at all times-- a classic or two, some light fiction, and non-fiction that enlightens or makes me rethink the way I have viewed things in my life.

Have you read Devil's Knot yet? I highly recommend it.

Devil's Knot is only available in hard cover right now, but I imagine that the trade paperback will come out soon. I borrowed it from work and am almost through with it.

You can probably borrow it from a library, if you would care to read it
