I wrote this driving back from the North Georgia Celtic Festival yesterday (massive kudos to the guys in Emerald Rose for organizing it - it was incredible). I'm on one of my writing tears...I wonder what will be next. This is to be performed by harp, fiddle, and 4-part harmony vocals, with a slow Celtic feel.

Mother Mine c 2003 L. Tracy/Ad Astra Music, ASCAP

Am Em
Once I was a child
Am G Am
Mother mine
Dm Em
You were always there for me
Am G Am
Mother mine
Dm G
In those days the world seemed fair
C b Am
And I did not have a care
Dm Em
I was safe within your arms
Am G Am
Mother mine

Then when I was older
Mother mine
Had to try it my own way
Mother mine
You know that I was wild
Even an ungrateful child
There were times that I forgot you
Mother mine

Instrumental verse, ending Am G Am / G G7, modulate to Bm

Only a few years
Mother mine
I’ll at last be coming home
Mother mine
And for a while I’ll rest
As you hold me to your breast
Once more safe within your arms
Mother mine

(solo voice, a capella)
Once more safe within your arms

Mother mine

The WIld Men of Ireland
The ones that God made mad
Their wars were so Merry
Thier songs were so sad!

That was amazing! I am sure that it is going to sound just amazing with the harp and fiddle added in, but I got chills just reading the words! Thank you for sharing it.

If you're walking on thin ice, you may as well dance.
