I read the article in the original post. Y'see, polar bear hair is hollow, and transparent. Because of the climate they're currently living in, algae managed to get inside the hair, making them turn green. The zoo is using bleach to get rid of the algae.
You know I've been to this zoo and have seen these very bears. I remember while wandering around the zoo after seeing them wondering why in heck there would be polar bears in the tropics. This is a country 60 miles from the equator that has a bear essesntially from the arctic circle. I didn't think it possible. Hmmmmmm.
