Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I'm inbetween jobs, so I don't have money to spare for a forum. I don't even have internet access at my apartment - I have to go to either the library or the local drop-in center to get online. I'll be on sporadically for now. I have some friends helping me to get a job as a certified peer specialist, so keep your fingers crossed! I've seen what it's like, and it looks like fun. Most of my friends in DuBois say that I'd be good at it, too.

Thanks. I used to think I could find anything, given time. I've been afraid that a job might be an exception, but I am hopeful I can become a peer specialist. From what I've seen with my peer specialist, I should be able to handle the job. It looks like fun, too.

I am sure you will handle the job well. It will be good working again.

I got a letter from Cen Clear over the weekend, and they said they have other applicants that have more experience and training than I do. My peer specialist said that she heard that if you want to be a peer specialist, you have to have spent a full year withouth a peer specialist. I'll keep trying.

I think they should have hired you. Perhaps you could write back and say that trying out someone earlier than a year would be a good experiment. They might agree. If they say they disagree they would still remember you better.

Keep trying until you find a job!

I still have my own peer specialist, and I'm going to need her until I get back on my feet. I'll look for something else I can do for a job (something I'll like, hopefully) and work there for a year until I can try Cen Clear again. Thanks for the vote of confidence, though.

Post about the job you take. Having a job will look good next time you apply for peer specialist.
