Greetings........

I bought some Henna today for tattooing........am unsure how to mix it. Does anyone have a recipe that works well. I've only used the pre-mixed solution before.

Thank you........

be well....rjay

Not sure about henna for tattoing, but I use it twice a year for my hair.

I use about 6 oz of dry henna, 1/2 cup of white vinegar, and enough warm water to make a thick paste.

I'm pretty sure that for tattooing, all you need to do is make a paste of water and dry henna.

Good luck!

As far as I can remember, henna tattoos are pretty easy to apply.

You paint the skin in the design you want (a stencil works) with olive oil, with a small brush. You want just a thin film of the oil.

The henna powder is applied to the oil. Sprinkle it on, and allow the unmoistened henna to fall away.

Allow the henna to dry. It will fall away in clumps, or flakes.. the henna will have stained the skin underneath.

But do not take my word for it. There are a number of sites on the net which will help with henna.

Thank you.......I think there has to be some type of oil base to it. I may try the water with a little first and see how that works.

How does the hair turn out? What type of henna do use?

Brown or red?

Thanks, Baal. I knew somebody had posted regarding this in the past. (It might have been during that period when Tarty was on sabbatical, and we were trying to entice her back)

Like the new nickname, by the way... How many Honey Boys have you had?
