Elizabeth Holmes & The Theranos Deception

 60 Minutes Archive

Elizabeth Holmes has been found guilty on four counts of wire fraud. In 2018, Norah O’Donnell reported on Theranos, the company led by Holmes with a blood-testing machine that could never perform as touted that went from a billion-dollar baby to a complete bust.

"60 Minutes" is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10.

Forbes named Holmes the world's youngest self-made woman billionaire --worth $4.5 billion --in 2014, when she was 30 years old.

On January 3, 2022, Holmes was found guilty of four out of 11 charges of fraud; she was acquitted on four charges; the jury failed to reach a verdict on 3 counts.

As Elizabeth Holmes heads to prison for fraud, questions remain about her motives

Sat, May 27, 2023 at 7:12 AM GMT+2

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- As Elizabeth Holmes prepares to report to prison next week, the criminal case that laid bare the blood-testing scam at the heart of her Theranos startup is entering its final phase.

The 11-year sentence represents a comeuppance for the wide-eyed woman who broke through “tech bro” culture to become one of Silicon Valley’s most celebrated entrepreneurs, only to be exposed as a fraud. Along the way, Holmes became a symbol of the shameless hyperbole that often saturates startup culture.

For more than a decade Elizabeth Holmes spun a despicable bloody lie. She told the world she’d invented a medical miracle. It was a machine which, with a tiny drop of blood, could almost instantly diagnose myriad diseases. Holmes promised to revolutionise healthcare, and in doing so fooled many wealthy investors. It led to her becoming a darling of Silicon Valley and an inspirational billionaire. But when whistle-blowers started questioning her claims, Holmes’ fairytale, along with her company Theranos, was destroyed. Earlier this year, Elizabeth Holmes was found guilty of fraud. Now it’s judgement day as she discovers her punishment.

HERE'S ANOTHER FRAUD

Confronting Belle Gibson - the health advocate who faked cancer

It was the lie that rocked Australia. Belle Gibson doesn't have cancer - she never did. Belle claimed unscrupulous natural therapists duped her into believing she was dying, but 60 Minutes revealed the proof that this is a lie too - Belle Gibson is not a victim. She is a fraud.

The apple doesn't fall too far off the tree, her father...

Christian Holmes’ career wasn’t entirely made up of government work, however: He also served as a vice president at energy companies Tenneco and at ENRON. Fuisz claims he helped Holmes in the wake of the ENRON scandal and the company’s subsequent collapse.

Theranos' Elizabeth Holmes Is Back & She's At It Again

Lost Beyond Pluto May 16, 2023
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKf60ntZlN0

Convicted felon Elizabeth Holmes of Theranos is back a new and reborn mumma! Or at least, that's what she'd have us all believe in her latest interview with the New York Times. After years of silence (since 2017 or so), she's finally found her voice again (no, not THAT voice) and tries her latest trick to convince us all that the entire Theranos thing? Yeah, that wasn't her fault.

This woman sounds like a character in a science fiction story.
