Hi Gals, A friend and I put together a fast quilt to give to a 13 year old girl with a very serious throat cancer. We wanted it to be bright and cheerful. I think we achieved that goal. We ended up tying it rather than trying to quilt it. But still I think it looks pretty good.

Be a pineapple, stand up tall, wear a crown, and be sweet.

I think I've seen that pattern before, as it looks very familiar. It is *so* attractive and your colors are so cheerful. You've done a fine job.

I heard on the news that at ASU in Tempe they are fining and actually disbanding fraternities. The kids are taking pictures of hug parties, on boats out at the lakes, desert parties etc. and their classmates are turning them in. No kidding, they took it all off campus because of the “rules of masks and social distancing” but they’re still exposing everyone.
Kids want to stay on campus and go to college, and they’re telling on those not willing to stop the huge parties.if you pay that much for college you don’t want to be in your bedroom at home on the computer.
That is great ASU is trying to control their students and on campus environment. But the students ARE completely missing campus life and friends... both socially and cooperatively in classes toward their major. The upper class students at DJ's school have been really frustrated about the fraternities doing a regular rush week with parties and activities. They also have little patience for freshman who are not wearing masks on campus and not socially distancing. Especially the first month of school. I think it is calmed a bit now or else the on campus upper classmen are trying to stay clear and ignoring them. At least the Frosh are in their own Freshman dorms.
Both DH and DS are a bit frustrated that the costs didn't really change when the decision was made to do a virtual semester. The only costs refunded to us were for his dorm fees.

I'm so glad you are feeling better (as of 10/3) but I'm sorry your left ear is still a concern. Did your Dr think about a sinus infection too? I wonder if your bad cold morphed? DJ had a bad cold after Christmas and we took him to begin school in GA right after New Year's Day. He ended up with aching teeth and finding a local walk in clinic Dr discovered a massive sinus infection. He got an antibiotic, decongestion/cough medicine and a steroid. Just a thought.
I hope by now (a week later) you are doing even better and you can hear from both ears!!

That is a beautiful and cheery quilt! How kind of you to make it for the young lady. I pray things will improve for her.

I don't know the young girl. Her name is Lily. My friend Judy and I who helped make the quilt with me know her only as the daughter of a friend of a friend. She is on several prayer chains in our community. Her diagnosis is not good. She kind of grabbed my heart as I read more and more about her on Facebook . So Judy and I decided to make this quilt. We gave it to her grandfather to deliver to her and we understand she was quite delighted with it. I think it blessed both Judy and myself each square and strip that we made.
