We definitely need a respite after 3-1/2 years of taking care of dmil.  My break for retreat wasn't quite long enough.

Wow, that is a long time with not much of a break.  You and your husband are dears to take her FT care on and making sure she is living in the best situation possible for her twilight time.  I hope you two do get a chance to take time off together and separately when you get the new caregivers up to speed.  It is so important for each of your mental health and for your marriage too.  Your vacation with friends sounds like a good, healthy and great time.

Hello, I grew up in Safford Arizona about 4 hours due East from Phoenix. It’s in a valley surrounded by mountains. Mostly farmland, and copper mining. But a beautiful town.

I'm so glad you are home and doing well.  What wonderful medicine for you to have some love from your cutie boy!

Do take it slow and I'll be joining others in recovery prayers.
