Sounds like R's day was surely wonderful!!  I'm sorry I haven't been able to check in with you more but I so look forward to seeing pictures of the bride and groom and, of course, of you and Mr. P too!  Oh, and of the 3 girls together!!!

Hi all,

I've had to be away for a time again.  I had to make another Mom urgent medical trip to CA in May.  Then had to return home as DH was scheduled for surgery.  In April he got the cold I had and, as often does, he ended up with bronchitis.  The Dr was concerned it was heading to pneumonia so ordered a chest x-ray which not only showed a start of pneumonia but a strange mass between the underside of his sternum and the sack surrounding his lungs.  When it was determined it to be in too awkward a place for a needle biopsy to successfully get to the Surgeon said she was going to use a DaVinci robot to retrieve it.  That was the only part that DH was excited about!  He's still recovering a bit but he got the pathology report and it was, in fact, a Lipoma (fatty mass) and no signs of any cancer cells were present.  Yay!

Now I'm back in a mode of trying to help my sister and mom from afar with arrangements for home care and other needs.  It's downright hard to keep up.  I haven't sewn really since the retreat and sometimes I go sit in my make shift sewing area and all I can seem to do is sit there.  I was thinking I do some simple sewing but I realized I need my scraps bin but I don't know where they are packed!  But my new sewing room is coming to life from the 2D drawings we've been looking at for so long and that's fun to think about.  Once I get to put stuff in that room I'll get my groove back...  I hope!!  I'd better!!

My goodness--you have had quite a time of it lately!  I'm so glad your DH's issues were not all that bad, but I'm sure scary for a while.  I hope everything gets all settled and you can get all cozy and creative in your sewing room.

Thanks Lynne!  Yes, we were very thankful at the confirmation of the pathology report on DH.  He's glad to have it out anyway.

Thanks Mel!  Yes.  I am way overdue at posting another chapter in the "Amanda Chronicles" and DH has more drone footage to edit and post so I can have him tag me too.

Oh my goodness - do I know about  “when it rains it pours!”

ever so glad that David is ok!  Now to get your mom back on track!  My dad turn 94 this week.  I recently spent a week with him.  Covid at Christmas has really taken a tole on his strength.  Between grief and Covid, he doesn’t have much gumption to try to get strength back.  He prefers sitting and bird watching!  Loved watching the cardinals, morning doves and wrens with him, while I was there.

oh so glad the pathology was negative!

Have to laugh about D getting excited about the DaVinci robot...

Simple sewing...that is what I am doing lately - I had to monitor a 9.5 hour debugging session the other day...not much I could do other than suggest possible aproaches...so... I stitched up a couple of what I call 'Boredom Blocks'... six squares of fabric and stuffed to make blocks - I gave a couple to my grand nephew in April...these two are probably going to Maisy.. I have a bag of random pieces of fabric near my desk...with a needle threader, a spool and a small pair of snips..

Its fun to read and lurk on this site and see what everyone is doing.  I see that Ami and Pirate busy with weddings. Always so much fun and we're always glad to get them over with.  Glad David's  lung  problem has been solved and no cancer which is the best.  Judy hang in there with your Mom, know it is a time we need to spend with our parents.  You too, Ellen, know visiting your dad can't be easy but more power to you.  I have been busy sewing donation quilts and today am cutting and pinning five tops that I've finished.

I have also had  a health issue and after receiving five radiation treatments on my right lung, I'm cancer free.  Because I've had the lower left lobe of my lung removed back in 2017, my cancer doctor is very much on top on any developments and have c scans every 4 to 5 months.  But after some tiredness (which Laura warned me about) and a cough, I'm feeling back to normal.

now that our summer is here and the temps are red hot, Emmie(dog) and I spend alot more time inside which means I'm doing a lot more sewing of donation quilts and using up as much as I can of my stash.  Since I have alot of 2.5 strips, doing race sewing with them and doing braids ( which I get a little carried away and make way too many for the quilt I'm thinking about. lol) But love making D9P and so you can see what my simple sewing is.  3 yard quilts are fun and quick to make and its fun to find different fabrics in my stash to use.

You all have a wonderful summer, keep sewing and RELAX.
