Well I did keep telling him that there was a sample right there on the machine for him to see and it was knit fabric, and that I wanted to sew more knit fabric but not with the machine skipping like that. Finally he decided to try using knit fabric and it happened to him too. I hope to try it later today and see if it is all working and then I may just cut out another t-shirt and sew it up..............I have a large piece of white cotton jersey and the pattern I drafted myself really fits well so I can always use another white t-shirt as they go with everything and I only have 1, and it does not fit as well as my new pattern.

Well I guess I better have at that last box of paper and hopefully will finish that today. There is lots more to do with paper but the rest is in file cabinets and likely a lot of that can be shredded and tossed because it is really old, this will make room for the stuff that needs to be filed and organized...........I hate paperwork!!!!!

Sounds to me like he just wasn't listening well. LOL!

I have been trying to do a blog post for half a week now. I take photos with my cell phone and that will not talk to my computer.............yes I have tried. I have an apple computer and samsung phone and the two do not like each other. In any case my phone is really dyeing and I need a new one soon. I have been unable to upload my photos to the blog but finally last night I got them loaded and this morning opened the blog on the computer and got to edit everything around the photos..........that was painful. So I just posted my t-shirt quilt on the blog. I still have a few more posts planned, the Home In The Woods quilt and a few more pieces of clothes that will be posted soon as well.

DH is hoping to start working with a new company in late July early August and I told him as soon as he gets a few paychecks I need a new phone. I have a Samsung S5. I think it is about 5 years old and that is an antique for a cell phone. The poor thing is struggling just to make a phone call lately and really going slow to load anything. Kinda like the little engine that could :)

I posted it on my facebook page and he responded to it. I think when I give him the quilt we are both going to be crying. Toni used to show up at work and come in my office and plop down and pretty soon we would just be laughing about something. Dean would pop his head in the door and ask her if she was disturbing us and then would laugh and leave..................as long as the work got done he did not care. She was about one of the funniest people I have ever met and her dyeing was sudden and a total shock............she had a heart attack.

I hope to get back to Colorado pretty soon, we have plans in the works so it is in the works.

Thought I’d post here on what I’m up to!  Saturday I cleaned up a corner of my sewing room and found some kits I didn’t remember having!  Lol!  But, I also found a couple of bags of scraps with ideas of how to use them.

one of these bags had a small center already sewn together- I’m sure from a class about 10 years ago! And enough pieces to make more blocks.  So I sat and sewed the blocks and added two rounds to the center.  
It makes a small size drag around!  This morning I found a wild backing for it.and am trying to decide if I should try quilting it.  The Hexies are just raw edge stitched on, so I am thinking maybe just some meandering between Hexie shapes?

I cleaned up my sewing area and was trying to decide what to work on.

I had bought some of the Waverly fabric  in grey that Quilt Mama recomended from Walmart for the hexi cubes so I have been whipstitching the cubes together. Once that is done and they are all attached together I will applique them to the grey background. This will be a really mindless handwork project and should not take that long as they are all just long straight edges. I may quilt this one on my home machine if it is ready before I go up to Colorado.

I also finally pulled out the tree of life quilt top out and decided I need to work on it. The problem is I had cut a 5/8" wide bias to make into a vine that finishes at a scant 1/4" when run thru the bias tape maker. I had yard of this cut out and was dreading making the bias. Well I just bit the bullet and hand sewed the pieces together. Since the join had to be dead on accurate I decided on the hand piecing for more control. Two days ago I took this now very, very long strip of 5/8" wide bias and slowly carefully pulled it thru the tape maker, it took quite some time and required a few breaks. As I went I very carefully rolled it around a empty toilet paper roll. I let that sit overnight so the pressed edges could set. Yesterday I pulled it out and hand basted the vine about half way around the quilt. That did not take as long as I thought it would. I am going to finish the basting today and then decide on where to put the vines that come off the main vine. Once those are cut and basted to the quilt I can start the applique. Since all the edges are pressed that should not take too long. Once that is done I can start adding the leaves and other things. I want a bird on the top in the center where the two vines meet and maybe a few other animals as well. I think ideas will come as I work on this.
