Mishi, I can’t tell you how often I did that!  And now if have the habit of making my binding- or at least cutting the strips!- and I bag them and label them.  If they aren’t clipped to the top, I have a rack the bindings are clipped onto!  This also helps me get that last step done faster!

this gal learned that the hard way too!  Develop a new habit, like me.

They may be old but they are still darling quilts.  I think hungar caterpillar is a classic cause no matter how old it's still popular.

Jo

Glad you were able to have some relaxing girl time.

I love the look of both of your quilts.  Just keep plugging away at those scraps.

AND if you really don't think you'll use something.. pass it on to another quilter in your area.. Or maybe a senior center, nursing home, 4-H club etc.

I have been working on the vine and leaves around my tree of life quilt. If you want to see it: https://enchantingquilts.blogspot.com

We went RV camping last weekend for the first time since March.  Man, it was nice!   I took along my Hollow Cube project but didn't do a whole lot of stitching since we weren't sitting around in camp.  :-)

While we were out and about, Mr. Pirate suggested that I look for a quilt store in the area.  Bless his heart, somehow even after a couple of *years* of working steadily on our family's heritage scrapbooks (and me rushing into his office yelling, "guess what I found out about Person X!!!"), he still thinks that I am continually quilting.  Right now, I'd actually prefer to find a scrapbooking store, but those are rarer than hen's teeth*.    However, it was very sweet of him to think of a place I'd like to go and, by golly, there WAS a quilting store in town!  So, I wandered around and ended up buying 2 charm packs (oh and another applique pattern for California quails, but I'm not gonna talk about that)   If there were 2 squares of the same fabric, I could use the pair for my Hollow Cubes.  Otherwise, I can get (4) 1" hexies out of 1 charm square for a different hexie project that is on-going.

* speaking hen's teeth:  My youngest, bizarre daughter passed along this scientific tidbit of trivia to me:  all birds have genes for teeth.  It's just not turned on.  Scientist have turned the gene on and the chickens grew teeth.       source: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/mutant-chicken-grows-alli/

Sometimes I really wonder about them.  My daughters, not chickens.

Your vines and birds look so life like, that quilt is going to be stunning.

Jo

Thanks Jo, I will say that quilt is keeping me outta trouble right now. I have decided that it is a good thing to focus on this Summer and I might actually get it done in a reasonably amount of time and not another forever project.

I hear a not-so-faint mockery of Forever Projects™
