Today is Bonnie Hunter Workshop clean up day for me. (6-24) oh and the workshop was in Jun 2017. I moved it to a door hanger so I would get motivated. Worse I already HAD all the border blocks finished. I need to organize myself in a better way apparently. It's my project until I get it to the LA gal
The Free pattern is on Bonnie's blog, and called My Blue Heaven.
I like it Judy!
you can do so many things and designs with string blocks.
Oh, Judy, that is going to be so stunning! Beautiful contrast between the darks and lights. How big is each block? Looks like you used some pretty skinny strings--that's a lot of work.
The blocks are pieced on 10" squares of flimsy foundation paper that I bought years ago from Missouri Star Quilt Company. (Advice to forum members; don't bother looking for those large tissue squares because MSQC doesn't sell them anymore.)
I used my AccuQuilt GO contraption to cut 1.5 inch strings from my little bins of leftover novelty fabrics and from my hoard of neutrals. This kind of sewing is what I call no-brainer sewing with an occasional thought as I recall a fun moment with a certain novelty fabric.
When you visited my house (almost five years ago) you commented about the intricate quilts I had hanging on our walls. I might be working on another one pretty soon because I found a Karen K. Stone foundation piecing kit for sale on eBay yesterday and snatched it up. (That was a dumb luck find because she stopped selling her kits of papers years ago!) It's a 40" square quilt called "Vicious Circles" and is a variation on Double Wedding Ring.

Good grief! That kit is going to be a doozy! Certain to keep you entertained and out of trouble.
Certain to keep you entertained and out of trouble.
This one is small (only 40" square) and I can limit the palette unlike the biggies I made long ago.
Maybe you should have your dear hubby pad that corner so you won't hurt yourself. I've never done anything that ambitious--guess I'm more the quick and easy kind of gal. Pretty sure I have adult ADD. If it's going to take too long, I give up easily. I stand in awe of your patience to work on something like that.
Missouri Star Quilt Company does sale 10 inch papers...item..NOT5129
Dont know if these are the same ones you have.
Or perhaps quietly banging my head in a corner of my sewing room?
If you give up on this project please don't throw it away like you did "Storm At Sea. The day you did that I was heartbroken and ordered the larger kit. It is finished and hanging on my living room wall. I love it.
Jo, that's wonderful!
When I checked a few months ago I did not find them on the site. Those are the best foundation papers (because of the size) . The ones you found today are a different color (mine are printed in pinkish ink) but I'm so happy to see that they are for sale.
