Your chicks are so cute!  I love that you have an ornery one.  I did that on Connor's high top tennis shoe quilt.

Lol, maybe one of those hens should lay a roll of TP.....

That would make it a 2020 pandemic quilt!

Now that the Happi Hens are completed, the next set of hens are named Helga.  Here's the first one.  Ami, that blue on the pocket shape (I think it's supposed to be a wing!) is from the hand-dyed fabrics that you did.  :-)

I really like that hen, likely just eyed a cricket! Glad you are using the fabric.

I need to finish my chicken quilt top.I have three blocks to go.

I finished quilting a huge improvement quilt today. I started it while we were in California. It is the wonky circle style I have made quite a few of but this is way bigger. It needs binding and once finished I want to enter it in some quilt shows. Now trying to figure out what to quilt next. I need to order batting and thread for the tree of life so will likely do a few customer quilts next.

I also found the wolf quilt and it still needs a hanging sleeve and label so will take it to New Mexico next week. I will be there about two weeks.

I am making slow progress on the applique border of the mystery quilt as well, that will go to New Mexico as well.

I feel like a piker in comparison to y'all...

I  laid out the 'For Anne' applique flower bowl that I was working on at Retreat on my ironing board/design surface a couple of weeks ago...decided I wanted mine to look different than the pattern...so I have arranged the bowl differently...and I decided I am NOT making the ferns!! (too many blasted little pieces!!) I am adding a couple of butterflies...and I am toying with putting a piece of lace under the base of the bowl (as in a doily!) ..but it's sloooooowwww goinggggggg...really too flippen' hot here to do much of anything - and we still don't have A/C...

Once it gets arranged I will applique it down...might need to do some more ink work though - it seems like it needs something more on the bowl.

oh..and something is trying to eat me...its not mosquitoes - it's a desperate mosquito that a bite out of me (I have sour skin to a mosquito) - and I haven't heard any buzzing... its not ants - I haven't seen any plus I just Amdro'd the house on Sunday... we don't have normally have chiggers - at least I HOPE we don't have chiggers! Spiders? but have not felt anything crawling on me...but something is definitely snacking on me....

You would KNOW if you had chigger bites -- you would be so miserable, scratching up a storm and would be desperately trying anything you could get your hands on to make the itching stop.  Best thing I have found is a Clorox bath - about one cup of Clorox in a bathtub full of water as warm as you can stand it, and soak for at least 30 minutes.  But if you don't like the sound of sitting in water with that much Clorox in it -- fix up a bucket or a plastic dishpan with some Clorox in it and put your feet in it, and sponge your legs with the water over and over.  The itching won't stop until you kill the little critters that have burrowed into your skin.  After you do that, then you can use whatever you usually use to relieve the itch - usually something antihistamine like Benadryl, or Cortizone 10.  You usually get chiggers when you are outside and walking among tall grass or weeds - or there may be something else in your garden, hmmm?  No-see-ums?  Do you have big red welts?  Could it be fleas?  But you would probably see them at some point.

I have some gnat things that eat my lower legs up.  Can't see them, they really don't cause a huge bite like mosquitoes or ants, but holy cow do they itch!

They seem to love dusk and nighttime.  Really not an issue at dawn.  I do a quick spritz of Off when the sun goes down.  I seem to be the only one that gets bitten.  Quite annoying.

I do remember getting chigger-bit in Texas the last few times we have been out there..these are similar-ish...but smaller welts..(everything is bigger in Texas!)

Will try the Clorox soak...don't think it will hurt! Except the very thought of soaking in a hot tub of water right now just does NOT sound appealing!!

We don't have animals anymore...so its not likely t to be fleas...and I usually catch those buggers mid-bite - they don't find me too tasty, my blood is pretty sour for fleas and mosquitoes...there is a feral kitty that keeps the gophers down in the yard...but he is so skittish... haven't seen him scratching...

no-see-ums might possible...I sure haven't seen em!!

This is the first year that I have had these welts...G has a few too..and he hasn't been out in the yard as much as I have.
