wow, I didn't realize how much I was doing with my hands yesterday.  I traced templates in the morning, then quilted in the afternoon.  Today my shoulders, thumbs, wrists all hurt.  And today I need to work at the computer.  Advil where are you....

About those aching body parts .... you have my sincerest condolences. I got clearance from my GP today to take up to 2000 mg of Tylenol per day for my aching shoulders. We could form a marimba line and rattle our pill bottles as we march around our sewing rooms ...

On to prettier topics.

Remember how you inspired me with the photo of that "Beads" quilt?  I'm moving along with my version, using batik squares and I feel so confident that this project will get finished some day that I went browsing for a very large batik-ish kind of backing. I wanted to go my all time favorite source for large backs, a place called Christian Lane Quilters, where I used to buy "Fat Backs" but alas and woe is me, Christian Lane Quilters is no longer a business on the web.

After much sad poking about on the web I did find a happy source for 108" x 108" backings, a place that surprised me because I had never shopped for wide goodies there before.

(A digression; my "Beads" beauty quilt top will not be that huge but I want to cut off some of the width of the backing fabric for borders to add on to the "Beads" front. Some clever calculating will be in my future.)

I had planned to quilt my "Beads" piece with aqua-turquoise variegated thread and was looking for a blue-green backing fabric. This one rang my chimes and it was on sale! Once the piece arrived I was thrilled by the "hand" of the fabric; there is an absolutely awesome silky feel to this cotton and it looks good enough to eat.

IMHO if you are creating a beauty of a quilt top these Stonehenge Ombre wide backing pieces (they have other colors) by Northcott would be a great investment in finishing your beautiful quilt.

I have so many pill bottles that I have to carry them in a tote bag...I have pills for this nd that and pills to counter the side effects and pills to counter the side effects of the side effects...

I have always been impressed with the Stonehenge line...Northcott makes some awesome fabrics..

I would need a backpack. My gallon size baggie is too full to zip closed.

When my DH was in practice as a dermatologist he would have a patient "of a certain age" like yourself come to his office with an all-over body rash, itching like crazy.  When the patient made the appointment for her (or his) first appointment the receptionist would ask the person to bring in all of the medications that the person was taking so the dermatologist could try to figure out what was causing the rash.

It was called "Sherlock Holmes time" when this patient came in with a grocery bag full of prescription medications plus over-the-counter remedies; medications from Doctor A, Doctor B, Doctor C and so on plus things the patient (or patient's family) picked up at the local Walmart, etc. 

Sometimes DH would come home bewildered at the "dazzling" array of stuff a person would be taking.

Not much to add about pills - I am fortunate to not need too many, at least not yet.

but, I am in a pile of quilts needing binding.  Carrie quilted pink paisley on this little one.  And yesterday I sewed binding on with a new fancy stitch - discovered that this one takes a long time to stitch around a quilt, and isn’t the best to use on  those thicknesses.

This quilt is a ufo from long ago that will go to my oldest son.  About a month ago he worked up a whole unit on Eric Carle’s book “The Hungry Caterpillar”.  This will be for him to use with the kids also.  I added tabs for hanging.  It needs binding handsewn down over the next couple of weeks. Carrie quilted butterflies on it.

I know that feeling.  I still do the handwork though.
