Oh, look!  I've completed my first row of eggs .... there will be a row of eggs between each of the quail rows.  :-)

Your quilting and piecing never cease to amaze me!

It is looking fabulous! Your feathers look really nice. I love how you outlined the hexi shapes.

Wow you really got that row if eggs done fast. You really can't keep calling these projects forever projects.

I once did  a small wall hanging on Cecil Faye where I found myself holding my breath too much as I tried to maintain consistent size with pebbles. It was very cute when it was done but it was my one and only adventure with stitching those d----d little bubbles or pebbles. Can't imagine using them on a king-sized bed quilt.

So I did a thing today. Very frustrated with my long arm. It’s poor quality, too small, too slow. I have been hemhawing for several years about upgrading.

We have 3 dealers in San Antonio, all of them HandiQuilter. I’ve tried these and they are ok, but didn’t knock my socks off. I tried an Innova and hated it. I wanted to try again because Innova gets amazing reviews and the owners adore their machines.

I hadn’t had a chance to try an APQS, but the reviews on these are amazing as well. The closest dealer is in Austin so I told Pita we should go get breakfast and run by a quilt shop.

On the way I called the shop to make sure they were open. She tells me they are having a road show today and offering show specials on their machines and to come join. It’s the first one they have had since the COVID mess began.

Poor Pita. It was a 3 hour demonstration and he weathered it like a trooper. And then I bought a Freddie. You know when you are shopping for a house or car and you finally find the one that is it?  That is how I felt today.

I got a show special deal too and didn’t have to wait for Houston!  Of course now that I’m home, I’m feeling some guilt over spending that much money. I expressed my reservations to Pita. Being supportive as always, he rolled his eyes, said shut up, and walked off. I’m assuming he feels I’m being silly. So I’ll go back to being excited. Yippee!

Congratulations!   Did you get a stitch regulator of sorts?  Anything computerized?

And you can always sell the old machine.  :-)   (just, not to me.  I have an Innova and adore it. LOL!)
