Pirate said: " I'm not sure I will have the brain power required to do all that kind of thinking!"
I'm sure I speak for many of this forum/group to reassure you that you definitely DO have the brain power!

Shelley it look like you got your hands full for the coming year. Can not wait to see the finish product.

Sometimes the young whippersnappers just need us older gals to tell them to slow down and ponder a bit before they tear into a new project.
Like Pirate always launders her fabric before she starts a new project.
Me, I never launder my fabric before I start.
Goes to show that there are two approaches to starting a quilt project and the goddesses on Quilting Mount Olympus have not hurled thunderbolts at either one of us.
Anyone want to mention other QMO rules we could cheerfully quibble about? (The operative word here is "cheerfully".)

I went to a charity work day yesterday with one of the local quilt guilds. I picked up some tops to practice free-motion quilting. I also picked up a couple of tops that were too large for the size the hospital wants for their NIC unit. It was kind of fun to figure out how to either cut them down or reuse sections. This was one strange quilt that had used some really nice great airplane fabric and blue TOT with a big panel of the yellow bunnies. Seriously? I took off the airplane borders and made one quilt of strips. Then the remainder I added some car fabric and orange coordinating that I won in a raffle to make the next. And the yellow bunny fabric I cut into squares, added scraps from my stash to make the 3rd. Much better. And now I have 3 to practice quilting.

Wow three quilts from one! Sometimes there is great fabric to be reused in another top.
