well the quilting is progressing. I finished the red sashing today and I can say I am VERY glad. I kept repeating what I think Chris said, it doesn't have to be perfect, if it was perfect a machine could have done it. But boy I did get sick of those beads. I settled on the beads because we put a long string of beads on the Christmas tree every year that my DD & I laugh about. You'd think by the end I would have been good at them, but not necessarily. Oddly I could do them pretty good right to left, the other directions were "inconsistent". How's that for a euphemism.
The black leaves were MUCH more fun and went very quickly. I probably should have made them smaller - I didn't look closely at the space I had to fill, some of the areas were tight. But I'm not inclined to change it. I'm fast approaching the "I want this done" phase of this quilt. I should probably do something else for a while.

Every time I see a photo of this quilt I think it is getting prettier and prettier.
If you think you need to take a break, go ahead and do that. Clean out and rearrange the kitchen cupboards or wax your car or .......

Also remember YOU are the only one who knows precisely where the "imperfections" are. It's BEAUTIFUL!

Hate to ask but would you post the pillow corner diagram again? Tried searching both here and my notes with no luck.
Please and thank you

I have been taking a break from quilting the x-mas quilt. And working on Christmas themed pin cushions. Tiny ones to stick on top of your machine - aren't they cute! They are for one of the local guild's booth at the quilt show in August. I combined the minature dresden flowers I made for the AZ retreat hostesses several years ago with a little pincushion I picked up somewhere that was on top of a golf tee to stick in a spool of thread. I've been using that little one on top of my machine and really like having it handy there. I only did 8 "pedals" instead of the 12 in the pattern I used previously, but basically the same idea as a dresden fan.
