thanks. I'm looking back at the quilt you did for me, I think I'm going to try mctavishing next. I am definitely getting more comfortable with my machine. I did several I spy quilts over the weekend and it felt more like we were a team than ever before. Kind of silly that it's taken me this long after owning it for 5+ years.

I would venture to guess that " your being more comfortable....working as a team" with your machine has a lot to do with the fact that you have stepped back from the overload of accounting work. Hope the team continues to work together so you can perfect feathers.

well, you are probably correct. I definitely feel less in a rush than I used to - no deadlines now, just ones I set for myself. They have coined a term for all of us who decided we were tired of the "rat race" during covid - the Great Resignation. And I'm old enough and close enough to retirement, it just isn't worth it. I feel sorry for my co-workers who are 10 years younger.

If you can find the YouTube videos Karen McTavish did way back they are great to show you how to do McTavishing. Practice with paper and pencil and do a few sample pieces. Really just figure out your own version of the technique. It is a great way to give open spaces movement.

If I make it to the retreat would you show me how to make the bag with the zipper inside
Can I observe too?

Thanks for the additional info! I have made a few zippered pouches and do know how to "box off" the bottom so the lining won't come out, but I didn't know how to make that big opening. They could make some cute gits to have on hand at Christmas
That is a really good idea. Just a general quick gift stash is great!

Your quilt is wonderful and the red cornerstones will make it sparkle just enough!

I love your sea of a variety of fish!! The sail boats just peacefully sail along above all that wonderful variety and chaos!!
