Finished another small charity quilt top. Found the scrappy blocks in my stash. Don't know where they came from but I know that I didn't make them. Now to quilt it so it can find another home.

Looks like a great way to use up those blocks. AND another project will soon be completed!

Wow!! Win/win. Use up scraps and orphans and end up with stunning quit.
good job!

How nice to sew up those pretty blocks and move them out of your UFO projects. Someone will love that quilt.

Finished all the blocks last night. I was measuring and cutting the sashing when I realized. Darn it. I don't have enough of the black speckled. Grrrrr. I thought about not using sashing, but putting the blocks together with the seams will be much much easier with narrow sashing. Fortunately connecting threads still has the fabric - it is a wide backing fabric that I had left from my Christmas quilt. Fingers crossed that when it arrives it is close enough - you never know with black if they use the same base or not. So I don't want to sew any of the sashing I've cut until I'm sure I won't have to change it. Darn it. I hate waiting.
So I am going to work on a pieced border - this needs something more than just a slab o border. I'm thinking some more string triangles to make a sawtooth border, outside a black inside border - since I'll have plenty of the black.

Wow!!! You sure whipped that beauty up quickly. It is great that you found a source for more fabric.

thanks Suze (and others). I'm having 2nd thoughts about the border. I did a partial mock up in EQ and I don't think I like it. Any suggestions for alternatives? At a minimum, the triangles need to be smaller. It somehow looks too rustic than the center.
