I made a few of them also.It is fun to see how many ways you can lay it out.

There were some questions about my mountain majesty quilt and that the picture looked like solids. Here is a closer view where you can see the prints. I may kit up another to bring to the next retreat as they sew up fairly fast.

Yes, that is a beautiful quilt, especially when you can see it up close and you can appreciate all the great fabrics.  I really like the fabrics you have used.  And like I said, in the picture taken from a little distance away, they read as solids.  Very nice.

This quilt could easily be made from a layer cake or you could make any size by starting with squares. You just need to have fabrics that contrast like either two colors like my green and brown OR contrast in light and dark. There are also multiple ways to set the blocks. It makes a great scrapbuster. It is best to begin with squares (which are first sewn into half square triangles) that can then be trimmed into a size that is easily divided by 4 as the next step is subcut into 4 equal strips, rearranged and then sewn together to make the blocks. If I had to guess I would say I spent around 10 or so hours total on the top and I worked on it a little each day during last week. If anyone is interested I can show how to make it next

retreat. Bottom line this design has alot of impact but is really pretty easy.

Love your mountain majesty quilt!  The colors are so pretty.  I've seen several on Pintrest and there are so many different layouts.

Looks like Fall.  Only 84 degrees here this morning.  I have hopes Fall is on the horizon.

I have never made one.  I need to add it to my list.  May take you up on that lesson at retreat.

The addition of the blue is really pretty!!! I now have all my fabric bins in one place and I have at least 3 big scrap bins and want to kit up some things. I should make some kind of hexi project. I have a whole Pinterest board for hexi projects for inspiration.
