Hello all, I am sorry that I have been MIA again.  As many of you know, I made a surprise visit to Arizona to see mom for Mothers day.  Since returning, I have been bombarded by one bomb after another.  I shall try to shorten the crash of it all  as noone wants all the damn drama of it all.  Lord knows, one cannot make this shit up, sad but..... ............

I got home from Arizona and proceeded to loose weight and within a couple weeks I was informed that my daughter was moving to Texas.  Then informed that she was getting married, to an unfavorable ex boyfriend I was unaware she was even seeing again....... within a week , then informed said wedding was going to take place IN texas and she was going to be gone within a week and married within two weeks and I was going to spend three days down there with my ex in-laws..........

all this while my health is declining and I continue to loose weight.  I had been to an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner who decided to ignore my concerns because she was primary care, not GI, and did not call in my primary.    She changed meds and ordered expensive tests that I did not need.

I went to Texas and that was a cluster KFJFKJ to say the least.   I returned home and went to see a new Short bowel specialist weighing in at just under 80pounds.

Hospitalized the next day and it all went to hell in a hen basket from there.......  I was in far worse shape than I thought, but I knew I needed help and I was sick.  I was asking for said help a month prior.....

I was admitted with kidney failure, severe nutrition depletion and malnutrition, hypotension and hypoglycemia, among other things.  I spent a week in the hospital and was evicted due to insurance and am now home with a line in my chest and IV nutrition and fluids for 16 hours of the day.

There is a med that may get me off this routine and actually help me, but the copay for me is over 2700 a month for it.   That is NOT a typo,  That is a copay for ONE med, not counting other meds and supplies.

enough of the story..... you get the gyst.  So, when I disappear, it is not because I come to retreat and forget all until the next one....... I handle so much at once and sometimes getting out of bed and changing my underwear is all I can do in a day

Le Kid

Miss you when you are gone. Happy you are home and pray you continue to get well.  Was so happy to see you when you came to town.  Get well you have quilting to do

Hugs to you Leann, that is a terrible cost.  Sometimes the company will eat part of the cost, hoping you can get some relief on the cost, put your mom the bulldog on it!  Keep hanging in there, hope thing improve for you!

sheeesh, have been thru the wringer....I hear you on just getting out of bed and changing the underwear...sometimes even that is too much of an effort..

I take it that your insurance doesn't have a max out of pocket amount per year?  I hit mine this year in Feb when I had the two kyphoplasties and everything for the rest of the year has no co-pay..

Patty has a good idea about asking the drug company if they have a 'compassion program'..

oh..and maybe an acupuncturist would help?...I started going to one a couple of months ago and so far she has fixed the carpal tunnel (no more wrist braces at night), I don't get up every couple of hours to pee in the middle of the night anymore and the tinnitus has reduced down to just being barely back is getting better but that might take a few more treatments to get it back to some semblance of freaks me out when she sticks the needles in..but I am loving the results...

Hope you get some relief soon...take care....

Leann you are now on my prayer list! So sorry you are having to deal with so much stuff and not fair that the meds are so over the top expensive that is just awful and not fair.

Oh my goodness!  That is way, way too much drama!  Stamp your foot and tell that drama to go away!  We need you better and quick!   Prayers and hugs.....

Suze, my hubby is going to try some acupuncture too.  They dry needling at PT and that helped, but PT is now just his exercises at home.  When we get back home, he will try it.

Sorry about all the things, but very happy to hear you are changing your underwear on a regular basis.

Oh my (((( Leanne ))))    I am so sorry you have had such a time.  Dealing with just your health issues is challenge enough but to have your daughter pop this relationship, move and life change on you too is crazy.  Could she not see you were  not well!?!

Do rest and recover.  Praying things will smooth out for you so you can heal...  both you and your relationship with your daughter.

Welcome back! I'm sporadic as it is, too. This is not the way to lose weight! ;) Hope you get to feeling better...that's a lot! And dialysis and such is tough on you...Will insurance cover some of these meds? That "copay" is steep! Or can your doc contact the manufacturer?
