whoohoo!! how exciting - you got a really great deal!!....I really really want a FW...I keep hoping I will find a great deal like this!

LOL!! Sadly, he does. Any tractor he sells -new or used- has to be bright shiny and dirt free. DH tells me about a farmer he deals with that washed his tractor every night after use. Crazy!!

I got my FW home and she is sweet. a 1940. Also a box of goodies that included a spare bobbin case, a cute little oil can, a mini Singer utility knife that i have never seen before, and some long metal thing that says Singercraft guide that I have no idea what it is. Any ideas?? Now to give her a spa day and off to sewing.

LYNNE!! I found it using Google image search!!
Product description from https://singer-featherweight.com/products/singercraft-guide-singer-vintage-original It talks about an instructional booklet, which apparently you didn't get. However, it you look at ALL the photos at that link, you'll see a bunch that show how it is used! Wow .. you can make some pretty nifty edge trims with this tool!
This is an original Singercraft Rug Guide and will work on any sewing machine, including the Singer Featherweight 221 and 222 as well as the Singer 301, 401, 500, etc.
Often given as a souvenir or token at various events that the Singer Sewing Machine was featured, so the styles will vary depending on year and location the Singercraft was provided. The majority of the vintage Singercraft Rug Guides could be used with or without the blade in place with the earliest version not having a blade at all.
Used frequently for making small throw rugs using yarn, but later Singer produced a booklet giving other practical ideas and tips using it with bias, ribbon, or piping to create trims for curtains, garments, etc.
Choose from a variety of styles, some more scarce than others, with or without a box. Instruction sheet is included. Singercraft will be clean and rust free.
Due to their scarcity, the extensions are an option to be purchased separately.
AND THEN .... a 5 minute YouTube tutorial on how to use it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFUAP8HGIY4

Addendum: because I'm procrastinating and I like researching stuff, I found a site that has scanned images of the booklet!
You can see and download those scanned pages at

Holy moley! **Just that Guide alone* is selling for over $50 on Etsy.

Well, my goodness! I have a $50 tool I will never use! Pretty neat how it works--I did watch part of the video. Not sure I have the patience to work with it, but it may look nice next to my vintage shoe hooks I have displayed in my sewing room. Thanks so much for researching for me.!
