It does look cool and like its waiting for a chicken. You almost have me to the point of wanting to do a project.

I really like that one. I have been seeing these on my Pinterest feed lately and just love them. I saw some today that were mixed with one block wonder hexies................really cool!

yeah, there's another version that has a smaller "pop-out" inside the hollow cube. I haven't tried that variation ... lemme whet my whistle with this one, first! :-)

THAT is really neat. Those types of quilts have always intrigued me. Can't wait to see the actual top you'll make. Fabric is perfect for thing as well.
I need to get "hot to trot" and open up my EQ8 and try one of these. I have several of Marci Baker's books on such quilts. Maybe I should also pull them out of the garage and take another look.

Yes. You should. Now ... while we are still sheltering-in-place. And have Nothing Else To Do. :-)

That's OUTSTANDING!
I notice you used a chicken wire fence representation. Do you also have any fabric with chickens that could go where you've used the yellow in this one?
Always happy to enable and distract people from important chores! LOL!

ETA Jo had already mentioned the chicken. How many people have to vote in favor of the idea before our dear Pirate drops her important tasks to build a chicken coop? There are two already!

Bwahahaha!! Already beat you to the punch! We had backyard chickens for about 20 years and in 2017, we finally got rid of ALL of them because Mr. Pirate bought us a small travel trailer. I pointed out that we couldn't go on road trips hither and yon at the drop of a hat unless we found someone to tend to the chickens. My goodnes, those chickens were *gone* faster than you can se Kentucky Fried! :-) Side note: we got rid of the last of the chicken coop accoutrements recently to another family member who has just started that journey. I say good luck to her! We've done our bird-brain duty. :-)
As far as chicken quilts .... I *had* started a needleturn applique chicken quilt prior to this project. The project photo looked darling. But in the execution process, I fell out of love with it and started this hexie project. Perhaps, in time, I will return to the chicken applique project.
