Viola your phone question   General Discussion

Started May-21 by Dee in TX (DBRADFOR3); 265 views.

Hi Viola, I decided it would be easier to answer your phone message here so I could post pictures.  The quilt your friend was asking about could be made a number of ways, but that particular one I follow the instructions in Ami Simm's Picture Play quilts book.  Sorry I don't have a pattern other than the book.  And I modified her instructions some to only include the corner squares every other square.   It is a pretty time consuming pattern.  If she's a beginner quilter I don't recommend the pattern.    (can't remember if you said that or not).    The book is a very good one, lots of great ideas.  My 1st book and a big inspiration.  It's not a large one and a little pricy but it includes some templates to help you audition fabrics for the novelty fabrics.  HOpe this helps.

Glad you got back with me.Yes she is a beginner. But that not the pattern that she was looking at.It was the o' & x' . The only reason it look so differ from other o & x is use I spy material to make it.I made one just and she like it.

Yes novelty fabrics make a difference sometimes in how it looks.

Viola:  Your friend may be looking for a pattern called "Xs and Os" or  "Hugs and Kisses."  Jenny Doan has a YouTube tutorial and it's fairly easy.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tyj9jCTlmc4
