Free Color Wheel Patterns & Ideas Need New Home   General Discussion

Part of this new attitude I have recently developed about making smaller quilts (no more longarming) involves reassessing some of the items on my shelves in this sewing room.

One decision reached this week was which fabrics to start chopping up for the Scrappy Improv Quilting book quilts. (Some of my scraps are too "plump" by the author's standards and need to be slimmed down.) In assessing different bins of scraps I came across all of my batiks and some patterns for color wheels.

The fabrics are keepers. The patterns and ideas sheets are not.

I made the "black hole" pattern in the top left corner of the photo in a color wheel array of colors and there are templates stapled to the cover sheet. The other three items are color wheels I never got around to making.  Plus there are other idea sheets and a few more patterns as well that I never used.

Free to anyone who is interested.

I asked my DD who was visiting today if she would want any of these and she grinned at me and said "Why would I want to make a color wheel when I am going to inherit all of yours someday?"

So ... speak up and I will pop this bunch of patterns in the mail this week.

Judy, I'm totally being presumptuous here, but are you looking for a new home for the wonky sun you did for CBS Sunday Morning some years back? Keep me in mind if you decide to put it up for gift or sale.

Sue, you are out of luck because the wonky sun has been hanging at my DD's house for years. She pounced on that one right away and it never had a chance to hang at my house because she helped a teensy bit in its design. (It was her idea to make the sun's face very off-center.)

When I got a new computer last year a lot of my photos got lost in the "brain transfer" but here's one that made the leap from the old iMac to the new iMac. Perhaps some of you will recognize your contributions of wonky striped fabrics that I begged for on the forum and that made it into the "Wonky Sun" that I submitted to that show for consideration. Fabric hanging off to the right became the binding.
