Sounds like lots of ups and downs packed into one day. Hopefully it starts well and ends on a happy note.

It's been awfully quiet here - I bet you're all busy making some wonderful quilts for retreat show & tell, What are you working on?

I'm working Inner Cube.  On the last stages now.  I've actually finished the top **per the pattern** but I am going to "straighten" out the edges by stitching on a border in black Fairy Frost.   Depending on how I feel after that, I *may* put on a piano key border in the Tula Pink color fabrics because there is quite a bit leftover.  It will make the quilt larger ...and a more useful size, I think.

Here is what I've done so far:

and the picture below shows how the in-fill process is going to be.  This is so I don't lose the points along the perimenter.  The designer has you cut them off (::gasp!::) to straighten the edge.  I just can't do that!

It was definitely outside my comfort zone.  I would have like to have had a mentor to help me in the beginning steps, just to get over the 'fear of starting'.  Once I started fussy cutting the fabric, I was committed and the fear was gone.  If I ran out of fabric, then I'd deal with that problem if it came up (it didn't.  Pink Door sent plenty.)  

When the fussy cutting was done and prepping the various shapes was done (which was simply mechanical), then it was stitching the shapes together (which, at times, was quite boring).  :-)    I even managed to misread how many I needed and have some extra shapes leftover.  :-)

But the main point was that I *did* finish, per the pattern, and am very pleased with it.  Never in a million years could I have ever come up with anything like this.  This was definitely well worth the full kit price for me.

If anyone likes the EPP process, I can assure you that THIS pattern will give you emmense satisfaction when you are done.  You may gain a few gray hairs in the process but .. eh ... what's that in the grand scheme of things?  :-)

 Another amazing quilt!  You do such outstanding work.  Who will be the lucky recipient of this beauty?

With as much head banging that went on with thus quilt,  it's gonna be **for me**!

it's absolutely stunning!  A masterpiece.  How do people come up with these designs!  It boggles my mind. 

The rooms are big.  You will have plenty of room.
