It was definitely outside my comfort zone.  I would have like to have had a mentor to help me in the beginning steps, just to get over the 'fear of starting'.  Once I started fussy cutting the fabric, I was committed and the fear was gone.  If I ran out of fabric, then I'd deal with that problem if it came up (it didn't.  Pink Door sent plenty.)

When the fussy cutting was done and prepping the various shapes was done (which was simply mechanical), then it was stitching the shapes together (which, at times, was quite boring).  :-)    I even managed to misread how many I needed and have some extra shapes leftover.  :-)

But the main point was that I *did* finish, per the pattern, and am very pleased with it.  Never in a million years could I have ever come up with anything like this.  This was definitely well worth the full kit price for me.

If anyone likes the EPP process, I can assure you that THIS pattern will give you emmense satisfaction when you are done.  You may gain a few gray hairs in the process but .. eh ... what's that in the grand scheme of things?  :-)

it's absolutely stunning!  A masterpiece.  How do people come up with these designs!  It boggles my mind.

I know you were very excited about finding and obtaining this kit.  As always you've been obsessed and a very fast stitcher!  It is wonderful but I'm kind of amazed you are not blind yet!!

If I may share some significant news and a milestone for DH and me...

Well...  yesterday was BIG for DH and me as we met with our Builder to go over their recommendation of products and choices with costs that added up to a final build budget for the house.  DH did some serious tax estimates for the sale of our CA home and then we analyzed the rest of our numbers as best we can.  So today we let our Builder know we are ready to push the GO button!  Permits will immediately be applied for with the County and other steps be put in motion!  I may have a new, permanent sewing room in a year or so!  Just had to share with someone(s)...  thanks.
