Just use paprika instead. It’s flavorful but not hot

Your recipe is what I call homemade Hamburger Helper, I just add a cup of water and dump in the pasta uncooked, cover and simmer about 20 minutes than add about a cup of mozzarella cheese cover til melted.

Hi girls, one hint to keep the noodles from continuing to cook and suck up the moisture.
Cool the noodles to your desired tenderness, drain in a colander, leave them in and rinse with cold water until cool to stop the cooking process.              Then add them to the sauce. This usually keeps them from getting soggy from to much heating and liquid.
my family has made goulash for generations, but Hungarian Goulash

Sounds good, Jonna.  I'm looking forward to making it.  Thanks for the recipe.  Don't you love having recipes you just loved from your childhood!  I have several from my school cafeteria too.  I still make a couple of them - and still like them.

School goulash?   I have something I make - never quite the same - that I call goulash.  Maybe I should see your recipe.

Looks alot like I make goulash,  only no pinto beans and I think I use paprika instead of chili powder.  Of course, you know me, I can't follow a recipe, I just throw in what I have or what I and feeling at the time!! So it never turns out the same  twice but it is always good!!  I will have to use chili powder next time, but I don't measure (Carolyn would cringe!!), I just toss in!!
