I just found out that Sherry passed away last night, after a three month fight with cancer.  Her funeral is Friday at 10am at   https://www.wilsonlittle.com/. She is not listed on their website yet, but that is where the funeral will be.

I know you all must think I should have said something while she was sick, but you know Sherry, and I felt like it was hers to tell, not me.  But since she has passed, she can't get too mad at me, right?!  As some of you know, we were not on the best of terms after I retired, a perceived hurt we never resolved. So I was not in close touch with her, but one of her co-workers has kept us up to date on her progress.

She had some kind of lymphoma and a mass in her abdominal area. She was too sick for more that one dose of chemo, spent alot of time in the hospital, then went to live with Rachel, her daughter.

About 15 years ago, Sherry had lymphoma and was successfully treated, but at that time she didn't want anyone to know and swore me to secrecy, and I never told a soul. But I think it came back to bite her.

I wanted to let everyone know .

Well, that is unfortunate news.  Sorry to hear that.  She sat across from me when y'all both came to the retreat that one year, and I enjoyed visiting with her, but i had not talked to her in years.  You had a big burden of confidentiality to carry for a long time.  Hope you are okay.  I know you would have liked to reconcile with her, but it takes 2 to do that, and apparently she never was ready.  Take care of yourself.

I thought *sure* this must have been a spam post.  It couldn't possibly be true.

But, geez.  Such sad news.   Despite the unresolved problem between you two, you were a good friend to keep your confidence and her news to yourself.  You are correct in that it was her news to share .... or not.

I'm sure Sherry had other things to deal with than keeping up with this forum.

She was a very nice person and I'm sad that she passed in this manner, way too soon.

That is so sad about Sherry. I remember her being really active on about.com I am sorry for your loss of your coworker and friend over the years.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  Even though Sherry stopped coming to retreat she wrote our Left/Right story for several years afterward,  She was so funny and nailed it every time—prayers for her family.

I forgot about her writing the L-R story - yeah!

So sorry to hear this. Oddly she was on my mind earlier this week (I'll privately share that with you later). Hugs!

If anyone wants to share a story about Sherry, her obit is on the funeral page now, I am sure the family would appreciate it.
