I attended an adoption the other day via Zoom!  I do not have a web cam, but that's okay because nobody needed to see my face.  I am only the great aunt of the children who were adopted.  But it was pretty neat.  The adoptive parents, the two children, all the grandparents (natural and adoptive), the Judge and all the necessary court officers, and many other friends and relations were there - most of whom never would have been able to witness the proceedings otherwise.  The Judge was able to interact with the two children and the new parents just as if they were in the courtroom in person.  It was a very happy occasion.

And how many friends and relatives (but never quilting friends ~ !) have ridiculed us through the years for stockpiling fabric and thread and such?  We are vindicated!

Sounds like a great day for all!  I have never tried Zoom, and I don't have a web camera on my computer either!  I do have one on my laptop and sometimes I skype the grandkids, but it is hard for them to focus on the camera, they are always running around.

Isn't that the truth. Even after they open things up again I fear that fabric and supplies will not be as available or cheap as they were for some time. I guess much of it comes from overseas. I remember in my younger days when North Carolina was where they had all the fabric mills in the US. Maybe they will start those up again...........a girl can wish.

If you use zoom from your smart phone, it will use your reverse camera.

I got my iris!  Woohoo!

Pita said they smelled a bit funky, but we got them in the ground and we'll see if they go.

I need to send you some money, that postage was nutso!  Do you do Apple Pay, Zelle, or Paypal?

You can just send it back to me if you want. Or even do an all over design. I really don’t care.

Hummm, when did you receive them?  Cause tracking said they were delivered May 23rd. I am sure they will go, you can't hardly kill iris.  If they don't, there is plenty more where that came from.

You don't need to send me money, I am glad to rehome iris.  We can work something out at next retreat, you can do something obnoxious for me, i will think of something!!
