I have been VIRTUOUS!! I actually drove to the PO to get both packages mailed.
I don't know why I resist going there. Maybe because it's SO FAR away? Literally, a 2 minute drive. :-)

So glad to hear you say this. I have the same malady. I see lots of things that need to be done or what I would like to do, but just don't have the "oomph" to do it. I thin we are all so frustrated and tired of the current situation and just want things back to normal.

Not to rub it in....but the last three mornings it has been in the early 60's here! And only gotten up in the 80"s. Very unusual for August!!
I finished the memory quilt and now am stalled a little deciding what to work on next. Need to make a trip to Kansas with a load of fabric, trying to figure out how to do that and stay socially distant. Probably go up and back in one day, ugh!

Viola, if you are shipping a package with a quilt in it just insure the package as "bedding" or "fabric" if you want to insure it.
Or, easier yet, do not bother to insure the package at all. These days most packages you send in the U.S. mail are automatically insured for $50.00. So tell the clerk that the $50.00 is okay. Do not make a big fuss about shipping the quilts at the post office ... just act as though you are sending donated used clothing or something cheap.
I have sent quilts many many times, to as far away as Australia and as close as Cleveland (Ohio) and I have never had a package with quilts stolen. I used to send Project Linus quilts to faraway places that needed them more than my location did .... no problem.

So packing stuff today to go back up to Colorado for two weeks. I need a break from all this sorting and organizing (well more like packing and labeling things into boxes and donating stuff I really don't need or want). I am excited to be able to work on some more quilting. I do have some great handwork projects kitted up to work on as well and some clothes I am excited to sew. I sewed a wearable muslin the other day. Made a camp shirt out of a brown paisley to test the pattern and fit for a purple fabric I love. The fit is great so I want to get that shirt sewn and I cut out another pair of the jeans pattern I wore to retreat in a rust brown denim fabric...............actually that will go great with that brown paisley shirt.
So I will be on the road again tomorrow for 7 to 8 hours.

Viola, take it easy on yourself! I know this weather isn’t nice to you! As far as your packages, I have sent many quilts - most of my baby ones- in the mail. I have not had any stolen. I do confirm the correct address and let the receiver know when it should be arriving. My sister has me send to her work place so it doesn’t sit on her porch. That is why I confirm sending address!
good luck with sending it.
Corrected! Thanks Judy for the heads up! Sometimes I hate typing on my iPad!

Most thrift shops here are open and accepting donations. Just took some things to the Hospice of the Valley thrift shop last week. I'm with you. I would like usable things passed on. Bob would just as soon put things in the trash and be done with it.
I am spending way too much time on my tablet playing games and on FB. I'm trying to complete some projects to get them out of my sewing room.

AT least along with my name it whispers "at least you are working on them."
