LOL!!! Great! ;P

There is no way I could ever see my DH try to sew anything. Love that your DH even moved the button over to change the fit!

Exactly!  We both had to twist she was fighting it so hard!

I recently saw a youtube video about making a pincushion in an altoids tin using wool scraps.  Has anyone tried that?  really looked cute.

I've made an Altoids box covered with a crazy quilted top for a swap once, but I didn't use any wool.  Unfortunately it went away in the swap before i even thought to photograph it.  It contained little trinkets for crazy quilting, but it would have been fun to have the inside be a pincushion.

It would be fun to make one with wool.

I do think I saw that before, but it's been a long time.  That IS a very cute idea, with the coils.

Seems like we got some kind of a tin box in our goodie bags in AZ one year.  The lids were decoupaged with little fabric pieces.  I know I have it in my sewing notions somewhere.  But it's just a tin -- not a pincushion, I don't think.  That would be a cute thing to use it for.

oooh, I do remember that.  Where did I put it????  I don't like altoids but I do love little containers.  I like having a little pin cushion in each project and at each place I sew.    The box I'm using currently is a nice box, but it's not very deep and my extra pincushions are too big.  I may just make a little pillow type one.

Yes if had to move them back and forth over the years. Lol. He was taught very young how the sew on buttons, hem pants and sew up holes in his shirts. His Grandmother was a desist and quilter. She taught all of her grandkids to embroidery!  Each one was given a piece of fabric and asked to make a picture on it.  She gave them ideas etc. then she made a quilt with all of them, by hand of course since Toby was the oldest, he received it after she passed. Every child in the family slept under it for years.
it’s in need of repair, I think I’ll work on that for him as a gift.

We did make those tins. They were mini first aid kits with cute sewing bandaids, Tylenol, etc.
