You are so right about double checking information and not going down the in law rabbit hole.   I have a cousin who has a HUGH tree...his great grand father and my great grandfather were brothers...some of the info in his tree is not correct and some is iffy, and he has in-law info so it's hard to follow.

My aunt started researching her family history before the internet, her advise is trust your gut, if it doesn't seem right it probably isn't and if it does even if you can't find documentation it probably is.  Her interest was picked when she and each of her nine siblings recieved a check from a distance aunt.  The check was for about nine hundred, but it is said that if the lawyers hadn't had to search so long and hard for one missing relative those checks would have been closer to five thousand.  I have no idea how many cousins got checks to but quite a few.

I  am in Sun City Oro Valley and can’t wait to get to the sewing room and meet fellow quilters. Had dear friend who lived in Sun City near Phoenix as a Snowbird she would come back with all these new projects to share.

Just moved October 1 and doing a little remodel on small house in Sun City Oro Valley AZ. Decided to move closer to sons as I am getting older.
Belonged to Delta Quilters for over 15 years and a small group in Summerset in Brentwood. Maybe we know people. I know Yetta from when she lived in CA.

Before long.....we just had another meeting, working on things.

patti,  I need some ideas from you!  I have had a pile of Winnie the Pooh fabrics from church here at home.  Finally today I was able to get two of the pieces into a size for kids!  And backing for one.

now, I am left with this!  3  framed blocks, 2 side strips.  They are CUTE!  But needs something to make it usable Size.  I found a blue that is close so the top frame on one block could be fixed and have the blue plaid print that could make a fourth square?  Or, that long strip that could be used somewhere....,

the blue checked print I have 2 pieces about a yard each,,,,but one has a hunk out of it.  My mind just isn’t seeing an instant pattern.

oh, I have this piece too.... it is about 2 yards long, but only about 1/2 the width of fabric.

Got ideas?  Or can I kit it up for you at retreat?  Would you want some other color to go with?

i need your brainstorming!

The winds have died down so they are getting a handle on the fire situation...the voluntary evacuation notices were lifted last night...the containment number is at 25% which is pretty good...

Sis has her Go Bags packed...says they will stay packed until fire season is over.

We did have one crisis... Daddy said he is NOT going anywhere...yikes...the elder of my two local nephews said he would deal with Daddy if it came down to evacuation...he and his brother would probably have to pick  Daddy up, kicking and screaming...but there is no way they would leave their Mom to stay in a fire zone...and she and Mama would not leave if Daddy were still there...

Not sure where they would have gone if they DID have to evacuate...all the shelters are full and they were recommending folks stay in their cars because of the COVID situation...not a pretty picture in any case. My younger nephew was in  one of the voluntary evacuation zones...with two sick kids and cat dying of cancer...not sure that many people would fit in the elder nephew's condo!!!

Sis says 'THANK YOU' to everyone who sent up prayers....
