Ellen I saw a Dear Jane quilt on Instagram. It was just all quilted in the ditch and it looked amazing because it showcased the piecing beautifully.

I’ve got good news and bad news.
The bad news is I have kidney cancer.
The good news is it was found by accident and is very small, 2.8cm. My surgery date is May 11th. There is a small chance it could be benign but it’s not likely. My urologist said these kidney tumors are almost always cancerous (85-90%). The doctor won’t know until he gets in there if he will remove the tumor or take the kidney. If the kidney is removed I should have no problems with just one kidney and I would be surgically cured of cancer. Cathy tells me that you can live with only 1/3 of a kidney. I’m not scared or nervous. I expect things to turn out just fine. I'm blessed to have Cathy as a friend. She is going to come and spend a week with me while I recover.
