Thanks all.  The zigzag is really just a Railroad Tie with careful color placement.  I decided to try the attic window after seeing it again in the Block magazine.  I had to adjust the the measurements but that wasn't difficult.

Finished longarm quilting on "Hot to Trot" today. I am not proud of the stitching work I did on it but it is done and off the frame. Started to work on the machine binding but my left shoulder is making clicking noises so it is time to call it a day. I think I'll take the day off tomorrow and spend some pleasant time grocery shopping. I see Raisinettes in my future.

 At least fondling groceries will give my arms a change of exercises.

Photos will follow after binding is done and the quilt has gone through the washer and dryer. My last quilt on Lily Aurora is certainly a gaudy one.

Awww....  that sounds sad.  Hopefully, in time, if you should decide to do the shoulder surgery, you can get back to it.   I just found out Friday that I have to have cataract surgery.  No big deal, but so far this old body hasn't caused me any problems requiring surgery.  Seems like once once things goes bad, others soon follow.

Ain't that the truth.  In the past few months I've been diagnosed with high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, hip arthritis and I need knee replacement surgery in both knees.  The next several months are going to be interesting.  Before this I was in really good health, except for my knees aching and the occasional cold.  Getting old isn't for sissies.

Just an idea here ....

Maybe you need a new furchild to cuddle to lower your blood pressure. Have you considered going to an animal shelter and checking out their older adoptees who need a new home? (I would never suggest a frisky puppy for someone with creaky bones.)

Yes, we are thinking about a mature, smaller dog sometime in the future.  We both really miss having a dog in the house.

Look forward to seeing the finished project.  It is a bright quilt.  Not sure I would call it gaudy.  I know what you mean about your shoulder.  Mine clicks as I do my exercises for PT.  We are leaving tomorrow for a month long road trip so PT has given me an exercise regime to continue.  I agree that taking a break is a good thing.  I have trouble with marathon piecing or quilting sessions.Enjoy your break.  Raisinettes is certainly  an incentive.  They come in dark chocolate now so you can think of them as "healthy".

How could they not?  Fruit + dark chocolate = health food.

Didn't need the Raisinettes.  Neighbors had gone on a bus trip to Mackinac Island and brought us some famous northern Michigan fudge as a souvenir. That got my blood circulating so I was able to get the job done today!

Misty the Kitty inspected. She looks puny because she is gonna be nineteen years old in October and she is definitely feeling elderly. However, she likes resting on a quilt while we watch DVDs in the evening.

Here's an example of how I loosely quilted around the flowers in the backing print. I preferred to do that rather than try to follow lines in the front of the quilt.  I would circle around the center of a posey and then create "petals" around the center.  It was crazy-making to ignore the exact petals as I was creating my own blossom. 

These orangey-reds are pretty much the true colors of the front of the quilt. The outside greens and whites are accurate and so is the blue of the pillow on the couch so you can trust your eyes when you see my finished "Hot to Trot" quilt.   Kaffe Fassett was a bit of a fast-talking salesman when he called this pattern his "Red Ribbons" kit.
