After I finished DGS book quilt I wasn't sure what quilt project I was going to start.  I was putting things away in my sewing room when "that little voice" yelled you have to get that string quilt done now.  So I pulled out the string blocks, thinking about doing something fancy but decided to keep it simple.  I finished it and took it to my mom's this past weekend so I could get a picture of her with it, left it for her to give to my sister.  Now all of my siblings have a lap quilt with string blocks made by my mom between 2014 and 2017.  There is still enough blocks to make a quilt for myself, but I will need to resew some of them.

Looks like you had a very productive weekend. I did or agonize stuff in my sewing room but am now back in Colorado. Next trip is a month away and I hope to continue organizing stuff, almost there.

Oh, Ami, what a typographic error!  "Or agonize"!  That is priceless.  grinning

So many of us "or agonize" in our sewing rooms as we dig stuff out and then dread putting it away.

Those must be such special quilts for your siblings.  Now you need to get busy on your own special quilt.

I'm not in a hurry to make mine, but I do need to make myself a table runner from the squares she hand embroidered.  But I keep thinking if I can get her to do more I could have a quilt.

Her eyes are bad so she needs simple patterns to hand embroider, so I used a transfer pencil and traced flowers out of an applique book, ironed them on squares of fabric.  Now she's saying no more, the pink is to hard to see.  So now I need to try to find something else to do the tracing with, which will probably mean tracing each square individually.

thanks

re roomba, I wasn't sure how well it did with lots of carpet and dog hair.  And vacuuming and walking the occasional stairs at work is about all the exercise I get - relaxed

It does fine on carpet, realizing that it is a surface cleaner not a deep cleaner like a vacuum.  I don't know how it does on pet hair but I can't believe how much human hair it finds in my bedroom.
