Have you gotten a rental house yet? When’s the big move?

We quickly picked a rental to settle into when we found one that was adequate. Most places never called me back or have crazy high pet deposits in place. Adjusting our buying wants/need to rental acceptability was a tough bite to swallow. I needed to have that piece in place otherwise I'd be lost and never get any sleep. Our oldest and his wife and son are coming for 10 days over Thanksgiving. The house we picked it cute and will be adequate for how long we are stuck in it. Hopefully a year but that all depends on the route John takes in getting another job. If he goes more independent contract we're stuck till he can prove 2 years self employment. Accepting an offer on our house the same day he got laid off is a blessing and a form of torture after the last year of preparation to buy a new house.

how cute! IF you are interested in selling that pattern, let me know. Marion collects llamas.

Here is the house block I made for a friend who is moving to Iowa. There are several of us at quilt guild who are contributing blocks. Her favorite color is purple and she loves cats. Many thanks to Suze and Cris for sending me some kitty fabric, Just to be ornery, I included a dog lounging in the grass (and she does like dogs, just doesn't have any). The cats are keeping their eyes on the dog! I used Steam a Seam 2 to fuse the appliques onto the block and decorated it with thread painting. I'm pleased with the results and hope she will get a chuckle whenever she looks at it. The thread painting doesn't show up very well. Bummer.
