I had to chuckle when I read your attitude on deep cleaning.  Same here! I grew up an only child with a mom who was an extreme clean freak. Every spring and fall we would totally empty each room and scrub the walls, windows, baseboards etc,, then clean each piece of furniture before it was brought back iI thought that was something that just had to be done and continued on when I got married.  But when I had 3 kids just two years apart, I just couldn't do it.  I quickly learned to let it go but it drover her nuts and he would get rather verbal about it.  Good thing she lived over 2 hours away and couldn't come in and take over.  She came to stay after the birth of our first son and 4 days after getting home from the hospital she had me out washing windows while she took care of the baby.  My kids did not have to grow up like that!

I've been busy making mask for my community and DD's PT clinic.  Getting pretty tired of them.  DD is a physical therapist and suggesting that their patients not come in unless really needed--like post op.  Few patients so they have had her working at the hospital checking temps of the staff coming in to work.  Makes me nervous.  I do keep all the frontline workers in my prayers.

Anyway, with the fabrics I have been using for the masks, I am making tiny houses. In the doorways I went through my novelties and found kids and animals that look like they are wanting out! I need to get caught up but want to make one a day for each day of isolation.  Let's hope it isn't a very big quilt!

My mom was also a total clean freak but not as bad as yours. Her attitude was more of a "house proud" kind of thing because she grew up so poor. As an adult she was proud of having nice things so they had to be kept absolutely spotless. My DM would hum and sing as she did the housework, something I never understood. I'll bet your mom did her housework with grim determination.  LOL

Gosh ... that's pretty intense .... out washing windows four days out of hospital ...

I did some low-key spring cleaning when first married.  I remember calling my sister-in-law and we'd discuss our "progress" ... Like you, I toned it down a lot when the kids arrived.

Your little houses are so cute!  Have to say that I share your hope that it doesn't turn into king-size quilt ...

Happy Easter!
