I need to get going on two T-shirt quilts for my sister!

Sounds like you are going to be really busy! One t-shirt quilt is a lot of work.................6 is a ton of work! You have a ton of great tools to make it all go much faster so I am sure that you will be cranking those out in no time.

Maybe go look on pintrest for red plaid quilts, or just plaid quilts for some ideas.

The homespuns and other yarn-dyed fabrics make good chenille, but lots of people don't like to do that because it is fairly labor-intensive.  Uses up a lot of fabric, though.  And they are very soft and snuggly after washing.  I think they make pretty good rag quilts too, but that's also not for everybody - and it's hard on the hands to have to cut so much fringe.  But also snuggly.

I have used the Olfa Chenille Cutter, and it's the best one I have seen.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qd7Tb4toWDI

I would use the homespuns to make a lap quilt or throw, but with a very simple block - all squares or squares and rectangles.  And use at least 1/2 inch seam allowances instead of 1/4.

Just got back from Colorado and had a bite to eat...............I had a light breakfast and some grapes on the road and was starving when I arrived. The truck is unpacked and I brought some handwork, some sewing projects and I will be seeing what quilty things I have here. I will be here about 10 days so hope to get lots done. I did finish quilting a huge art quilt and did a freeform ruler allover design on a queen quilt while I was in Colorado. Photos of that are on my instagram I go by my name: Ami Krenzel, and there are a couple of photos on my facebook page as well.

Dee, I think your reds would make a neat looking plaid or ribbon quilt.

You must have t shirt quilt making down to a science if you have six on your plate and still thinking about a quilt out of the red fabric.

Regarding the tshirt quilts, yes I do. Lirtally a production line process. Not a lot of creativity involved honestly, but people do love them. I approach them like a jigsaw puzzle, trying to fit in as many as I can. I made 7 earlier this year.

I have one of those cutters, bought it on sale!  I should use up the homespuns I have, cause i really  don't like homespuns!!  Denise and Cathy gave me some of their homespuns, and i have several normal quilts to finish with them, but then maybe use the rest for aa throw!

I'll put it on my list-LOL!!
