That will be a big job but it will be wonderful to have hard flooring in your sewing room.  Good for you deciding to save for it ahead of time!

So I had to find some older fabric today so in getting down to that in the sewing room I found 2 piles of T-shirts I'd been saving to use for DJ.  They are just getting too bulkly to pile as whole shirts.  I was thinking to cut them down to just the image I want to use.  Should I use and iron on stabilizer for the back before I cut down or just over cut the image/logo and store without?  If so, can you remind me of the product you recommend to use?  I know you've likely shared this with me before but...  you know...  I have brain fade periodically!  Thanks.  

Or for your first cut on the t-shirt is easier to cut a bit oversized so you do not have to struggle with lots of bulk to put the stabilizer on.  I ususally just cut the design with a generous part all around and wait for stablizer till just before I use.

I just finished piecing a top with the ugliest fabric known to man.  It was a jelly roll.  Don't know where, when, or why I got it.    It is so bad that I did a simple pattern as I decided to use it as a dog blanket before I ever started the pattern.  Heh

My plan is to use it to practice some graffiti quilting.  I used the Card Trick pattern so I would have lots of white space.  My daughter's dog won't care that it is ugly fabric.  They are color blind, right?

Thanks Ami.  That was the direction I was leaning.  It will be so much easier to store many relative small, flat piece rather than a whole T-shirt.

Oh my.  Try to send a picture to one of us who an upload it so we can see.  Quilt it quick and dirty so you don't have to look at it too much longer!!

I'm going to quilt it to death.  Trying out all kinds of new things!  I'll pull it out and post a picture.  It will be a while before it makes it to the frame.

It is woven and very lightweight.  Definitly overcut and do so generously and STRAIGHT! i learned the hard way on my first one.   I had used scissors and what had seemed generous actually curved and was not so generous after all.  I typically whack off the sleeves then shoulders and up one side seam so then it is flat. That way you dont mess up anything on the other side. They take much less space

Glad to help.  Our new floors were finished on Thursday and we moved the excess furniture away from my machine. So no more excuses, time to get busy quilting. I have 6 t-shirt tops ready to quilt. I finished one today and started on a second.  I am trying some different all over patterns than my usual but it takes more thought, I dont have the muscle memory built in.  But they look ok.  One is kind of a vine, which looks cool on the back which is green fleece. But it is slowwww.
