nope, the one in 6 weeks.  The top will probably be finished before I go to bed tonight and on the frame tomorrow.     maybe   I might wait until after Thanksgiving because we have house guests that will be using that room and I can't leave a loaded quilt on the frame - not enough room to squeeze by to the bathroom.

I finished my second "House Arrest" scrappy quilt today. I'm  kinda burned out with random scrappy work for the time being and while it was pleasant doing pantograph work on this quilt (much easier on the thumb .... one tap and away we go for each row) I will now focus on another form of quilting. This was the first time I used Quilter's Dream batting and I was delighted with how it really "poufed up" after a trip through the washer and dryer with this stipple quilting.  Of course, it probably does not show up well in the photo.  I flopped the quilt over the washer and dryer to try to get the texture to show ....

Next on my agenda will be "Vicious Circles", a 40" x 40" wall hanging designed by Karen K. Stone. I found a set of her foundation papers on eBay and so once I find the fabrics in "Dee colors" of darkish red and tans and beiges and creams I will be good to go.   I have never done a red and white quilt and this will be my version of such a project.

I love your string quilt Judy. Looks like just the thing to curl up under and have a cup of tea on the sofa.

I had a thought the other day about you and your thumb...could you get the button that you need to push moved to the OTHER handle?

I do the same thing.  My mom taught me that if you are going to make a mess making a casserole, you might as well make two or three extras.  I do the same with soups and chili. It is so nice to just grab something out of the freezer when you just don't feel like cooking.

That amazing quilt just gets better every day! So beautiful!  I'm impressed at how fast it is going.

Oh, Judy-- I love your bright and scrappy string quilt and the quilting looks great!  There are so many things you can do with strings and I really like the layout that you used.  What is the destination of this lovely quilt?

Long story short, if DD doesn't want this string quilt I might offer it to the receptionist at my family doctor's office.  I have watched Connie juggle phones and grumpy patients for years and I'd like to surprise her with a Christmas gift. (I go there monthly for B-12 shots and she's always so pleasant and cheerful. She's very petite so the quilt should be a good fit.)

 Dee, as usual, your applique is exquisite.  I think it's kind of fun to just build your quilt the way you want it.  This one promises to be another beauty.

Judy, I love your string quilt.  I have quite a few blocks I need to lay out.  I haven't tried this layout.  I may just "monkey see, monkey do" it, as you would say.

They only thing I've worked on the last few months is a t-shirt quilt for my granddaughter with her rock climbing competition t-shirts.   I just got it back from Carrie yesterday.  She quilted it for me.  Now to bind it.  I'll post pictures when it is done. 

thanks Cathy.  The quilt is all done & washed.  It turned out very snuggly with the "premium" fleece from JoAnns.  It was $20 per yd though on sale for 40% off.  More than I would usually pay for fleece but I decided she's wroth it (of course ).  I keep looking at it folded at the foot of my bed thinking I'm going to miss it, I've spent so much time with it the last couple of months.  I'm going to give it to her for Christmas.
