Well, after accomplishing what I needed yesterday, I had some down time and I needed to sit. So, I put on a movie and guess what I did?
I sorted my strings into colors! Guess what I am going to do one day? No surprise….l.I also had something fabric that would be thrown away, so I cut it into squares for bases for my blocks.
I won’t be starting this as I know it will distract me, but I have a base for getting started some day down the road!
(Truely, I am pushing myself to complete my last 30 Dear Jane blocks. The applique is slow, but bit by bit I get another block done.)

yup...that works! My Sis says that about settling my parents estate...we are down to the last few accounts (sheesh, Mama had stuff in SOOOOOO many banks and funds...and each one has a different set of forms to fill out and either get a Signature Guarantee stamp or a notary stamp)
Looking forward to seeing what you do with those strings!

Did you guys know they had so many accounts? How frustrating to do those forms over and over again! Do your banks have notaries in them? Many of ours here are doing away it’s offering that service. Last time we needed on3 it was hard to find, and we had to pay a small fee for it!
(was sad that friend had given he notary license up….)

I was NOT aware!! My Sis had a better clue since she was living with them and got all the statements...But even she is boggled by just how MANY there are. As Mama said "I was really good at saving money and opening accounts...just not too good at consolidating" (I think she knew it was going to be a ton of work) Mama and Daddy were products of the Great Depression - they did not trust any one bank or institution with holding everything...
Fortunately our bank has been VERY accommodating with us popping in to get stamped...and they don't charge us.
AAA will notarize up to 5 per day for no fee as long as you have the Premier level card.. But the bank has to do the Signature Guarantees anyway...so I am very grateful the bank does both.

I'm glad the bank is good about doing the signatures for you. DHs bachelor uncle had all kinds of accounts / investments, his brothers had to wait to calendar year end for those with annual statements to be sure the found everything. Not to mention all pockets of clothing had to be gone thru.

That will be so cute. You are so productive. You get s many projects done. I'm quite a bit slower....

There was a time when I had high energy levels like Pirate, Dee and the other forum members and I enjoy seeing their awesome output. Brings back memories of my "good old days" when I could spend hours a day being productive with needle time.
Can't begrudge them their fun, Cathy ... they are "gathering their rosebuds while ye may" time.

Judy, your quilt is lovely. So colorful.
I want to thank you for getting me introduced to Donna Jordan. Her new video this morning using Kaffe fabric is so bright and inspiring. I love the tip of taping the template to your ruler. Never thought of doing that. I am awaiting my first purchase from her store. I found some fabric with cell phones that will make a darling quilt for a teen at the homeless shelter here in town.
Thanks again for "enabling"

Thank you for your kind words about my "Beads" quilt. I liked making it and it tickled me how my DD pounced on it for herself. (After watching me make so many quilts over the decades she's become quite picky over the ones she will claim for herself.)
I don't watch Donna Jordan all that often because I can't work as fast as she does and so I get a little bit depressed if I watch her too often. (Yes, they speed up the camera as she is sewing but she's just such a whiz at the machine that it overwhelms me after a while .... )
