Would he have an aversion to pink scissors?
If you bought yourself pink scissors would he avoid them like the plague?
Just an idea ....
Your tools, my tools kind of scenario might work or then again it might not ...

September 1st, so I decided I should probably get started on DD's llama quilt rather than sewing scraps. So I headed over to Gibbson's because I'm going to need 5 yds of background and 8 FQ worth of browns and grays for the bodies. I have nothing like that in my stash, though plenty for the bright blankets. I found $8 & $9 yd for Moda. Not too bad. I still have embellishment to do on 2 blocks plus applique the garland on my Christmas quilt. But lately I've been missing my sewing machine, so the llamas might as well get going. I want to make it full size for her new full size bed. So that's a fair number of llamas and looking at the pattern it's going to take a while.

Ummmm…. His tools, my tools didn’t work in my house!
when we married, the wonderful people held a shower for both the men and women to attend. And then came up with the brilliant idea of a toolbox and then the men bought him tools. Then a few ladies got together and gave me a small hammer and a few tools that they decorated with fancy flowers and such!
my tools were kept in the house in my Drawer. But that didn’t stop Hubby from using them. One day I couldn’t find my hammer….asked if he borrowed it, and he confessed he broke it! He has looked for a small light one ever since…although it could never replace the special one made just for me!
sigh…..doesn’t work here.

I haven’t got a lot done on my Dear Jane project, but I did complete hand sewing on 3 blocks. I also prepped 2 blocks for English pping. They seem too difficult to piece, only thing is, it’s lots of small pieces. But I figured I’d give it a try!
I will let you know….
here are the finished blocks.

We don't need to do that "his, hers" thing at our house because both of us are neatniks ... I just offered the idea to Mishii because of her Pita's annoying habit of messing up things in her territory.

In order to avoid the quilt I loaded on the machine as well as DBIL set up my industrial Juki I brought up from New Mexico a month ago I am making a Chore Coat out of mustard corduroy I got last Fall. I am making all kinds of extra features and tweaks. Some years ago at a VOS retreat someone left a partially sewn dress out of quilters cotton on the giveaway table since I liked the fabric I snagged it. I have chopped the fabric into Hong Kong seam finishes, the inside yolk, a hem finish and a hidden pocket inside. Lots of fun surprises inside the garment. I am working on pockets today.....putting on at the end so I can decide where I like them. I made them oversized. Once I sew them on all that will be left is buttons and buttonholes. My bin of vintage buttons is in NM so I will get that next week as I think largish vintage brown buttons will be perfect.
Hopefully when I get back I can hit the ground running on the quilt.
I also have binding to handset on the quilt I took off the machine a week ago for the car ride.

AND I am very proud of myself. I purchased only ONE novelty, just 1/2 yd of bananas and only because I knew I was down to just 2 squares of bananas. Gotta have bananas in an I spy quilt. Usually when I cull through my novelties I end up buying more than I got rid of. Trying to be a good girl this time and not undo all my previous effort.

Dee, I have 12" (selvage) (almost 3/8 yard) of small bananas on a mottled turquoise background. It's a leftover from a previous project. If you'd like it, I'd be happy to send it to you.
